Over the next few weeks I am hosting a UFO Challenge. Everyone who participates picks a UFO that they have and they try to finish it before Bonnie Hunter’s new mystery quilt comes out on the Friday after Thanksgiving. If you stop by on Wednesdays you can see everyone’s progress…and by the way, it’s not to late to join us.
So how are you coming?? Do you have your UFO picked out. Me, I’m working on Grand Illusion.
After sorting everything out I discovered that I was five blocks short. I had the pieces for them but they weren’t assembled. Besides that….I had all the other units together for all the other parts. That was WONDERFUL news. I definitely going to conqueror this UFO before the challenge is over…but will I quit? No way. I will pick another UFO.
So I finished up the five blocks…and I even got them sewn into rows.
I had debated about changing things up a bit but at this point, I’m not. I just want it done. If I don’t love it once it’s all done…big deal. I’ll gift it.
So that’s how far along I got this week…the blocks are sewn into rows. Next week I am not aiming high at all. I just want to get my sashing strips sewn together.
See you next week!!
I got the middle of my Pineapple Blossom quilt assembled and am working on the borders.
Oh geez! I’m no further along on it now than I was the last time you posted a challenge before the retreat. Guess I better get busy. A few blocks is better than nothing! Thanks for the kick in the rear to jump start me. :)
I am making slow headway–got another 4 star struck blocks made. I’m hoping to finish the last 12 this week and then I’ll be able to start assembling the quilt, but I need to finish assembling the quilt top that I have laid out on my son’s bed (that I’m using as a design wall while he’s away at college) so I can lay the blocks out. Thanks for the push to get this done!
I am also working on finishing Grand Illusion. I thought I needed to do this quilt because I live in Northern Michigan and have been to the Grand Hotel many times. I found a backing and took it to my quilter last week. I am picking it up tomorrow and hope to get the binding sewn on by Sunday. Then just the hand work.
