Oreo Cupcakes for Jason’s Birthday

Kelli’s husband Jason celebrated his birthday at the beginning of the month.  Kelli and the kids tried to make it special by making cupcakes.

The kids were all excited to have cupcakes and candles.  They were probably more excited than Jason was.

Here is the recipe.

Mix up one box of vanilla cake mix according to the directions.  Crush up a 1/2 package of Oreo cookies.  Put half of the crushed Oreos into the cake mix.  Mix.  Put an Oreo in the bottom of the cupcake liner.  Fill the cupcake liner so that it is 3/4 of the way full with cake mix.  Bake according to the directions for cupcakes.

Cool.

Here is the recipe for the frosting.
1 small pack instant vanilla pudding
Mix with one cup of milk.
Add 1 T of vanilla.
Fold in one container of Cool Whip until there are no streaks.

Pipe onto cupcakes.  Sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreos over the top.

To make it all more kid-friendly, the cupcakes got sprinkles and M&Ms.  Emmett…loved it.

The frosting was the star of the show!!

Eli was all excited for them too.  You can see why we typically take Eli’s glasses off when he eats!!

If you have a cake mix and some Oreos in your pantry, these would be so fun to try.

It was a fun night for them all!!

I hope you all love them as much as the Hanken family did!!
