On the Frame: Kelli’s Pineapple Blossom

I have Kelli’s Pineapple Blossom quilt on the frame.

Shortly before I had my surgery I decided that I needed to keep a quilt loaded on the frame is if I ever had a hope of getting all the quilt tops that are piling up around here done.  So I decided I would grab and load the next quilt that had a backing already put together.  This one was it.
Kelli had an extra wide backing paired with it so in no time and had it loaded and was going.

Happily it isn’t a huge quilt so I’m quickly making progress on it.

Kelli and I both started these quilts long ago when we saw Bonnie Hunter for the first time in Storm Lake.  We met our blog friend Nell there.  It was so fun.

I looked back in the blog archives and I finished mine back in January of 2013…Ruby was just a pup back then.

This is a Bonnie Hunter pattern.  You can find the free quilt pattern here.

Hopefully I’ll have Kelli’s off the frame, bound and before long it can be out of my house and on to Kelli’s.  I am so ready to clear some space in the quilting room….

Beautiful quilt Kelli. I have done this quilt twice in blues for males in the family but on seeing this one in brown I wish I would have done one in browns. Oh well, project for the future.

Okay, I admit it – sometimes I want to see Ruby just as much as I enjoy seeing the quilt. Do dogs ever smile? Ruby always looks so solemn, but maybe she is thinking that this is serious business showing off a quilt. Great job Kelli and Jo.

I can’t remember, did she do the blocks the same size as Bonnie’s pattern or are they smaller?? I did that one in all purples, but I have a scrappy one started somewhere in the UFO pile. Maybe over spring break, I can visit the UFO pile and get some things moving. 1.5 days of work left this week! YAHOO!
