On the Frame: Bohemian Rhapsody

Kelli and I have been wanting to make a couple of the quilts from our book only make them in alternate color options.  We finally got a chance to do that….

We have had several blog readers send up fabric and I’ve been setting aside anything that looks like “Fig Tree” fabrics…lights in soft greens and corals.  The entire quilt top was made with donated fabrics…even the yellow background.

We are so excited to see the quilt in other colors.

I’m using a “new to me” quilting motif that I’ll tell you about once I get the quilt finished and can take some better pictures.

The was a bit of fun quilt to put together.  Kelli cut it out and sewed the blocks.  I trimmed the blocks, ironed them and sewed the blocks together.  It was my Saturday morning sewing session.  I love grabbing an easy pattern and doing a little mindless sewing.  It’s like therapy.

I have this quilt about half way quilted….Hubby called me away to do some outside work but it will be waiting for me to finish up.

The pattern is from our book Country Girl Modern.  The pattern is Bohemian Rhapsody.  You can find more info about the book here.

Bohemian Rhapsody is also a pattern that intrigued me in your book (which I have).
I wanted to get Kaffe Fassett prints, and then use a neutral grey like you did in the book. The pastel version you are quilting looks great also. I would call is Pink Sherbet. I don’t know if they actually make Pink Sherbet, but that is the name that popped into my head. Now that I think about it “Cotton Candy” would also be a good name for the quilt – with all the nice pink fabric. Just right for a little girls room.
