I have good news…and bad news. Â Let’s start with the good news.
I think the cement guys are pretty much finished. Â We have steps going into the house.
We have a garage floor…This is the view at the front of the house. Â There will be a door to the left and two garage stalls to the right. Â In the back left will be a people door the exits into the back yard. Â There will also be a garage door that exits into the back yard. Â That one is just small and will be for bringing the lawn mower in and such. Â The back section of the garage is hubby’s work place.

Can you believe how quickly our cement guys worked?? I am so impressed. Â In just seven day they got all we needed done.
While our cement guys were working on their thing the carpenters were doing their thing. Â Their thing…shingling. Â The roof has 3 layers of asphalt shingles and one layer of wooden shingle that all have to come off. Â They made some progress…..
Now the bad news…once the roof is done the carpenters will likely be leaving for a bit. Â UGH!! Â We were doing so good and then this.
Apparently the rafters aren’t done so the addition can’t go up. Â We’re told it might be a two week wait. Â I just wish it wasn’t so. Â It was looking so good and now a set back.
I’m going to keep my chin up though. Â We have lots of other work that needs to be done so we’ll just try to keep busy with that…and that my friends is the latest on the house.
I’m enjoying following the progress ~ amazing what has been done on your new home in recent days! I can now “see your house!” I love the front porch & steps!!
Oh Jo, if only I lived closer to you. I would come over and help you with anything I could. I feel so sorry for you and hubby with the work taking longer than you were hoping.

Jo, You will be surprised at how quickly things will progress from here even though you have to wait for the trusses. I can still see you in by Christmas 2014:) Keep the faith!
Things are coming along, there is all ways a reason when things slow down so hang in there, I still see that Thanksgiving Turkey and all your family around the diner table in your new home.
