Did you see that over at Love Laugh Quilt they are having a Sewing Museum Linky Party? There are lots of people who have linked up with their antique sewing machines and notions. I am sharing my old pinking shears.
Have you seen one like it?? There are two wheels, a solid wheel and the pinking wheel. As you open and shut, the wheels turn and the fabric cuts. I works really well.
I bought it years ago at an auction in New Hampton, Iowa. Back then I was a quilter want to be. I purchased several things but my eyes were on crafty things rather than quilty things. Oh I wish I could go back to that auction today with my quilty eyes. There are so-so many things I would have bought.
I did get these pinking shears though…they are the perfect kind on antique-unique, cute and still very usable. Head on over to the Sewing Museum Linky Party.
I have those, I think they were my Gandmother’s
Fun! FUn! Thanks for linking up!
Hello Jo,
Pinking shears that actually work! They look scary, but heaps better than the blunt old rubbishy ones I always come across. Thanks for the photo.
Love from England,
Muv
Never saw anything like them. thanks for taking the time to share them.
How interesting! I have never seen anything like them before.
Fascinating! I’ve never seen anything like those shears!
Gadgets are so intriguing, and old gadgets are the best!
Wow….I have never seen pinking shears like those! They are great!
I would never have guessed that they were pinking shears. Probably a collector’s item, but I’m glad the pinks on scissors blades were invented. Thanks for sharing.
I actually saw those exact pinking roller scissors for sale today at the Sewing & Quilting Expo in Puyallup, WA. I guess a company has started producing them again. They were a bit pricy, $77 before tax, so right now I’ll use my pinking roller.
I have one. It was my mother-in-laws. So unique. Wondered what it’s value would be.
