My freezer has way too much soup bone in it and it was time to use some up. I thought about making soup or stew. Then my son, Karl, who is home on break asked, “What’s for supper?” Without even thinking I said, “Beef and noodles, if you help me make the noodles.”
I like making noodles but it makes a mess so I don’t do it as often as I would like plus I’m a low carb eater and those homemade noodle are full of carbs. We got busy. I have a nifty pasta maker that I make my homemade noodles with.
I’ve had my CucinaPro 177 Pasta Fresh Pasta Machine several years and have really liked it. It’s especially fun if I’m making them with kids…even big kids like my son Karl.
I am by no means a pro…just an experimenter. We run the dough through the flat rollers once at a size 7 and then again at a size 4. After that, we run the dough through the noodle cutter portion. Then the noodles go onto the dowel that’s hanging between two chairs.
We like thick noodles…oh…I can’t wait. I love beef and noodles too!
Yum!
Sounds yummy…Hmmm. DH has a noodle making machine somewhere…maybe that will be a good fun thing to do with the kids one of these days!
I love homemade noodles but don’t make them often, either. Thanks for the great idea of using a long dowel stick!
OOOOOh, yummy! Our family loves home made noodles, but we roll by hand since we don’t have a pasta roller. Enjoy these wonderful memories!!
LOVE beef and noodles! We make a ton of homemade noodles for our church dinner every year, and I love buying some up and having them as special treats!
YUM! Now I’m hungry for home made noodles. I haven’t tried making them with my 4-year old yet. I think we’ll do that over Christmas break after he gets some practice from his Playdough extruder that he is getting from Santa. Ha ha ho ho. Love the picture of Karl. Family smiles are best!
I love the ‘grin’ on your son’s face….he IS having fun with his mom. Merry Christmas to you and your wonderful family!
Just wanting to wish you a Merry Christmas. I love reading your blog! It’s like sitting down with a good neighbour/friend! Greetings from Canada!
