I’m going to make a new regular feature here on the blog. We have free pattern listed on the right sidebar of the blog, we have a book Country Girl Modern, we have patterns in our online shop and we have patterns often featured in magazines. We have so many of you taking those patterns and making them in your own way and your own style. The new blog series will feature YOUR quilts made with our designs. We are so excited to be launching the new series as there is no higher compliment to a designer than to know you like our design well enough to spend your time and money to make it.
I got an email from Ellie. She wrote:
“I saw the quilt Kelli made and I knew I had to do one too. Mine is a bit smaller and I left off the borders but I’m really happy with it. I know you didn’t design this pattern but I thought since it came from your blog you’d like to see it.”
Well, I sure would like to see it!!
Oh yes…I love it!!
Kelli’s version is below.
You can read about her quilt HERE.
It’s made using a free pattern from Quilted Twins called Show Off. You can find the free pattern HERE.
I have one cut out to make and want to get it done. It’s in my UFO pile and it’s actually the Dirty Dozen I am supposed to work on this month. I haven’t pulled it out yet though. I’m still hoping to. We’ll see. I really have an itch to finish all of the projects that I can lately so if I get any time at all, I’m going to be sewing on it!!
The next “Made by You” quilt is….
Helen in Arlington, MA shared a quilt she wrote: “Rainbow Connection from Country Girl Modern. Made in Jan/Feb 2020 for Arlington (MA) Rainbow Commission (LGBTQI+) fundraiser. Unfortunately, postponed indefinitely due to COVID.  Guild members loved it at one of our Show & Tell’s. Went together fast.”
Helen was right this was made from our book Country Girl Modern. Here is our version of the quilt…
If you have a 3 1/2″ bucket of scraps that you want to go away, this is the perfect quilt to make. It is a great beginner quilt if you are new to quilting or if you are teaching someone to quilt. There is no seam matching. That’s always a plus.
When we designed the quilts for our book we wanted something for everyone and this was one of our easy quilts.
We have our book available in the “Shop” here on the blog. You can find it HERE, or you can always find it at the top of the page under the banner at the “SHOP” button.
Thanks so much for sharing your quilts. I really love seeing them. When I see that people make quilts from our designs, it inspires me to continue to design. Thanks for that!!
Very nice. It’s one I’d love to make. I hope if things slow down. It’s looking like a move back to Tx if we can do it before the snow flies…. I love that pattern and think both of them are wonderful.
I tried to find the magazine with your latest quilt in it but I think they are sold out. If anyone sees it on the bookstore shelf please let me know- the current Dec issue of American Patchwork – thank you.
Both of those quilts turned out beautifully!! Thanks for sharing those quilts from blog readers, Jo.
Both of these quilts are beautiful! When I saw Ellie”s quilt I thought, “It’s amazing how a quilt can be made similar but yet different from the original idea.” I wouldn’t be able to choose a favorite.
