I first discovered Temecula Quilt Company several years ago via Quilt Samplers Top Shops magazine. Â I loved just knew I would love to actually visit the store.
A short time after that Hubby and I went to San Diego and tried really hard to fit a visit to the quilt shop but couldn’t. Â I’ve had to instead enjoy their work through their blog and website. Â Time and time again they have hosted quilt alongs and although I’ve wanted to, just couldn’t bring myself to fit one more thing into my schedule. Â I’ve always regretted it later.
This Christmas they are hosting a “We Wish You a Mini Christmas” quilt along. Â I decided to do it. Â They are posting a block each day for 12 days with the layout instructions posted on the 14th. Â Well the 14th is my birthday so what a great little birthday gift to give myself. Â As of writing this, I am six days in.
The blocks are tiny and will finish at 2 1/4″. Â They are just so darn cute. Â Best yet, I don’t have to pull out fabric to make the blocks. Â I’ve just grabbed something out of the scrap bin and whatever I pull is whatever I make…I’m trying to do it as easy as possible.
In 2012 they did a 12 days of Christmas quilt along that I always wished that I had done…I might still go back and do that one day.
For now I’ve been making two blocks every other day. Â It’s been fun and something I hope to keep up with.
I’m also following along with this quilt-a-long and raiding my scraps and thoroughly enjoying it! Thank you for your honesty Jo about the costs of blogs as well as the timing of posts! I wish more people in the world were honest ……….

Sheryl has the best free sew a longs and offers a kit if you care to buy one; they sell out quickly. I’m also sewing these We Wish You a Mini Christmas blocks. Looking forward to block #8 in the morning.
I haven’t been participating in the We Wish you a Mini Christmas sew-along but I did make the 12 Days of Christmas last December. I used a charm pack a friend had given me for my birthday. It is very cute and sewed up fast. The fabric I was given was more ‘modern’ than what I normally use so it is a colorful Christmas wallhanging. Enjoy your sew-along and have a Happy Birthday next week. Blessings, Gretchen
I too love Temecula Quilt Co. blog. I did their 2012 Christmas sampler, their ABC quilt along and their summer sampler this year. Will catch up on the Christmas mini next week. So fun.
I am doing it too…sew fun!
This quilt-a-long you are doing sounds so interesting. I’ll have to drop by the Tecemula blog site to take a look. But I’m doing my first Bonnie Hunter Mystery quilt this year, so that’s about all I can handle right now what with all the other Christmas season activities. That brown block you’ve made toward the middle of the picture is so c-u-t-e; I love the colors and patterns in the fabric!
