Let’s Get it Done!!

Buck and the kids were home this weekend. Buck was in a mood to tackle lots of jobs around the house, and I encouraged him.

First up, he took my new television up to my bedroom and planned to set it up. I previously had a television upstairs, but it was Arnie’s, and I sent it with him when he left and bought myself a new one.

I cannot believe how cheap televisions are nowadays. I remember paying MUCH more when we got our first flat screen.

He ended up getting the television upstairs only to learn it would have to be mounted on the wall, and I didn’t have a mount for it. We ordered, and Buck said he’ll put it up the next time he is home.

From there it was time for a new clothesline to hang my quilts out front. The old clothesline string broke, and I couldn’t hang quilts anymore.

I upgraded to a stainless steel version. When we first put it up, we only wanted something temporary so the clothesline rope was fine. Now I know I regularly use it, making the upgrade needed. It was only $8 more for this.

We tested out the height and I was able to pin up a quilt.

Then Buck heard me start my dryer. It makes a noise for the first few minutes, then it’s fine. I thought it was a slipping belt, but I didn’t know for sure. Buck ended up looking at it.

All on his own, he figured out the part I needed and put it in my Amazon cart. He said he’ll fix that the next time he is home too.

Then he was out in the garage and put together the basketball hoop the kids bought me for Christmas. We hadn’t put it together sooner as we had snow and wouldn’t be using it yet. He got it put together and set it in the extra stall of the garage. We need to get some sand to put in the bottom to weigh it down. It will stay here until we get the sand.

WOW…I was so happy to get these things either done or one step closer to done.

It makes a momma’s heart happy when the kids come home and help out. THANKS Buck.

  1. Kathleen Louisiana

You and Kramer built a beautiful life. Caring and smart kids, adorable grands and a welcoming and loving home.

  2. It’s great when the kids are aware of the jobs that are just beyond us and take them on willingly! Our kids do that for us and it’s much appreciated,

  3. What a great son you have! Well, all your kids are great! I’m so glad Buck was able to help you in so many ways.

  4. I do kind of like you. I’m a widow and live alone but when the kids come over they do things for me that I can’t do alone. I’m so appreciative and they don’t mind at all. I just bought a new tv for my living room. It’s a Samsung’s 65 inch and I feel like I’m at the drive in! I just love it. The prices have really come down. Enjoy your new tv. Hugs,

  5. It’s wonderful to have such handy children. I bought a new TV for my sewing studio and the price was super reasonable for its size. Water in your hoop stand will make it much easier to move around and lots cheaper. We bought sandbox sand for our patio umbrella and its super heavy to move, which I had thought about using water instead.
