Last Week…a blur

Last week was really a blur for me. My days with Anders were changed around. I hosted two birthday parties at my house. I had a doctor appointment and more…I thought I would give you a quick photo rundown. I had company at my house from Wednesday morning through Saturday night.

Wednesday was Gannon’s birthday…

I got a picture with the birthday boy.

Kayla and Jasper were here. Karl was here. Kalissa and Kelli’s family were here too. Here I am with seven of the grandkids.

Friday night, we celebrated Georgia’s birthday with the same crew here. Gannon had requested pizza. Georgia made it even easier. She wanted biscuits and gravy with fried eggs.

If you’ve read the blog for a long time, you’ll remember that the two were born only a week apart.

With those two birthdays, I now have grandchildren at these ages: 10, 9, 8, 7 (2), 6, 5 (not for long), 4 (2 not for long), and 3. Whew.

Here are some pictures that happened during the week of celebrations.

Kayla brought some of her knitting projects to share. This is a shawl she is making. She thought she was close to done, but then got to the edge of the shawl and found out the edge is pretty intense.

To balance that off, she made something easier…Lego mittens.

So cute…

Georgia and Gannon made a huge paper chain.

One evening the adults played cards…

Kelli, Kayla, and I spent a lot of time sewing on the patriotic string quilt we are making for my great-nephew.

While I was sewing Eli put his chin on the table of my machine. He thought is was so fun to feel the vibration of the machine that way. They he got Jasper and Emmett to come and try too. So funny!!

Eli joined in and worked on pulling papers off the back of the pieces.

Georgia had a lot of fun. She would take Barbies and wrap them in some of the strips we were sewing to make Barbie dresses.

It was chaotic and wild. I didn’t take enough pictures to commemorate the time together. Thankfully, I lived through it all…and had a great time…and my house is back to normal. Whew…what a blur it was.

  1. Kayla’s shawl is exceptional! Wow, that edging!! I love to knit, but would never have the patience for such a project. The grandkids and the sewing machine is super funny. What a treat to have everyone together for so many days. ~ Suzanne in Michigan
