Monday of last week Kelli took a plan to Orlando. Â She was with a group of nursing students heading down to a nursing convention.
Kelli was super nervous about it. Â She’d never flown. Â I kept telling her that she’d be fine. Â One of the biggest comforts to her was that she knows Debbie, our blog reader and friend, and she lives in Florida so if something should happen that Kelli had to have someone, Debbie could come rescue her. Â HA!! Â I’m sure Debbie would but I didn’t break it to Kelli that Florida is a big state and Debbie could still be hours away. Â Anyway, it got her on the plane.
As the week went on, Kelli started posting some photos on her Instagram account. Â Like this one….
Then Wednesday I got an email from Tina in NJ, a blog reader, that said, “I see from Keili’s Instagram feed that she is or has recently been to Coronado Springs resort in Walt Disney World. In fact, I read the post from my own room in the same resort! I may even have seen her! I remember thinking the woman looked like Kelli, but what would a farmer’s wife/nursing student be in Florida?”
Who needs Debbie when Tina is right there!!
Isn’t it a small world? Â It’s fun to have a “world of friends”!
One of Kelli’s concerns was finding some gluten free food….It looks like she managed…Fish Tacos.
Although they had meetings and sessions during the day they did get some time off to see the sights too.
She had a good time but was sure glad to be home.
She, like me, will always be firm believers that “you can take the girl out of the Iowa but you can’t take Iowa out of the girl”. Â We love it here and Iowa will always be our home.
That’s funny. I would have gladly come to her rescue if she need me. I’m glad she enjoyed herself and got home safely. Thanks for messaging me, Kelli. It was so good to hear from you. You are right, Jo, you can’t take the Iowa out of the girl…I still call it home.
Years ago, my parents were in the airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico on the way to a Carribean cruise when someone called Mom’s name. It was her cousin Johnny, whom she hadn’t seen in 20 years! You just never know who you’ll see where. Glad Kelli had a good time!
What happened to taking it easy and relaxing after surgery? Hope you will be going strong as you have more treatments etc. Also have you decided what you are going to do with all your birthday blocks? I can’t wait to see the end result.
I enjoyed getting to know Kelli! She was alot of fun and made our trip more fun to be on! I’m glad she overcome her fear and traveled with us! She is a great new friend to have met!!!
