Kayla brought a quilt top for me to quilt for her. It’s a cutie and it’s simple and easy…it’s one of Kayla’s designs.
She did it as a free pattern on her blog with instructions broken up into three different days. You can find the instructions by following the links.
Day One: Cutting
Day Two: Sewing a block together
Day Three: Assembling the top
It’s made with 50 5″ charm squares along with a little extra yardage…perfect for a quick baby quilt!
I am tempted to hit my scrap box and quickly sew one up.
I ended up using a favorite quilt design and some pastel variegated thread.
All in all it’s a great little quick and easy baby quilt. I want to try this out only make it bigger. It would be a great scrap buster!!
As shown here it finishes at about 40″ x 40″. I think Kayla named it appropriately as it truly can be made in a weekend, made with charm squares and is charming…and that’s Weekend Charmer.
I’ll add this to the free pattern section in case you want to find it again.

Today I am hooking up with Michelle’s Romantic Tangle, Confessions of a Fabric Addict, Crazy Mom Quilts, and Link a Finish Friday.
Thanks for sharing. I think this would make a great comfort quilt when made a little larger.
I can see this being a great stash buster. I’m going to have to try this one weekend.
I need a stash buster, so I will try! Thanks for sharing, your guilt is a beauty.
Can’t wait to try this one, and Ruby is charming as usual.
Congrats on making the cover!! It’s a beautiful quilt, and I love the simplicity of using the solids. :o)
I just came across your blog and I love it! How do I follow it?
