Jasper at Three Months

Hello from Kayla…

My baby boy Jasper is three months old! The last time we saw Mom in person was at G&G’s birthday party, and we aren’t sure when we get to visit again. I thought I’d drop by for a post to share what Jasper has been up to.

I am surprised every day by how much he is capable of getting “up to.” I expected babies to just lay around for a few months but he is active, fun, and so interactive!

Jasper has discovered his hands and loves to chew on them and play with his pacifier. I recently made him a little snuggle bunny because he loves to play with the edge of his knit blanket. (Here is a pattern to his bunny)

Jasper loves being outside and his new stroller has gotten a lot of use! He is content to hang out and watch the trees while we work in the garden. He stays calm for long walks.

His favorite place to be is his changing table which we think is so funny. His favorite person is his daddy. I expected him to be like the dogs who like best whoever feeds them most, but this is not the case. Everything Daddy does is hilarious and if Dad talks when I’m around, it’s all eyes on him.

We aren’t quite sure how big he is because we have not made his three month checkup with the virus risk, but we think he is still small for his age. We are so lucky to have hand-me-downs from Carver and Gannon. Kalissa says Carver wore these overalls for his newborn pictures and Jasper is just about getting too big for them.

I dress Jasper up in cute clothes every day because otherwise they might never get worn! It’s likely that he won’t leave the house (besides walks) for his whole 0-3 month clothing cycle.

I was supposed to go back to work the week after school got canceled and we are canceled in Iowa at least until April 30. It’s a scary time but if it had to happen, the timing is perfect for me to stay home with my little guy. I’m soaking up all that I can and doing my best to enjoy the situtation.

He’s a beautiful happy little boy. About the all eyes on daddy thing. My girl was that way she started saying dada at about 3 1/2 months. She didn’t say mama until she was 11+ months old. It was fun to watch them interact though. Enjoy your time with him as they grow so fast. Praying for all of you.

  2. He is so cute! My daughter has always been very small too. She’s 2.5 now and still can wear 12 month sized shorts! She’s 25 pounds. My husband and I are tall but I do have some petite people in my family and I believe she will always be on the smaller side. I love it because she’s still very easy to carry, even at this age.
