Here is my January Schnibble…
Yes I did it in the Moda line Rouenneries by French General. I LOVED how great the fabric looked on the pattern cover and I already had two charm packs in my drawer wanting to be used so decided to use Rouenneries.
I had heard that several people were frustrated because they didn’t think there were enough red charms…well, by total accident, I made five gray blocks and four of the red blocks so I had no problem with the red. I think it ended up looking just fine that way. The pattern called for yardage for the white border but I was thinking frugal and just cut and pieced together the light charms instead. I’m think frugal for the backing too and plan to just use muslin.
Mine isn’t quilted yet….there is something already on the machine so I am waiting for that to get finished up. I did go back and get the Cindy Lou Who Schnibble done. You can check that out here.
When I had my daughter, Kalissa, was holding up the quilt to take the photo, she said, “Do you think this Schnibble makes me look fat?”…..what a hoot!
If you are looking for more Scnibbley fun check out the parade of Schnibbles hosted by A Quilting Life and Pink Pinchusion on the 1st of the February to see the parade of Madeline Schnibbles.
Love the quilt. I just started working on Schnibbles and did the Cindy Lou in pastels. I have the rouenneries fabric and just might use it the same way you did. I sure like the way it looks.

Oh it turned out beautifully! I just ordered that same pattern and fabric this week. I think I will use your idea of more grey than red blocks and scrappy piecing the border. It is so eye catching!
Happy Quilting!
