Last night I loaded the Double Wedding Ring quilt on the frame. I used some chalk and made markings for the first row of designs.
Then I got the white board out and practiced. I don’t know if I like the design so full. I am thinking about making the feathers smaller. I search my thread and can’t find the one I really want so I’ll think about it on my trip to town but tonight I am going to put some thread down whether I am too chicken or not.
Woohoo! It’s going to be such a treasure for the young couple.
If you want some feather ideas, this gal is amazing:

The best thing about quilting is that you get to choose how you want to do it all. Just a few feather swoops in each block might be all you need. You could start with a heart in the middle, and fill in around it, then a flower in another one, maybe a star, musical notes, a book,…sorry, I’m getting carried away with ideas of things that might have memories for your son.
Good Luck!
You go, girl!!
It’s going to be beautiful! Can’t wait to see the finished quilt. It will be a treasure for you son and his wife.
I like it with just the lines in the centers. Looks like a shining star!
I’m sure you’ll find exactly what you want in quilting and it will be a beautiful gift for the young couple.
It’ll be beautiful! Just do it :-) A long arm instructor once told me that it’s better to have too much because no one can compare when there’s a lot :-) Which is probably why my “scrappy” attempts aren’t successful and yours are :-) So go for it! BTW…what’s the little black box with the red center? I’ve never seen that and I do so love toys!
Looks good Jo, I agree with you about the feathers being smaller. One commenter suggested different motifs you could quilt as well as feathers, how about the bride and grooms initials and wedding date? Whatever you decide will look great – it always does.
i think it’s going to look very nice with the feathers.
how did you attach it to the leaders, having the curved edges?
or did you float the top?
sheesh, nevermind about attaching the top to the leader, i’m thinking about the backing, not the top. brain is not working this morning at all…. i should go back to bed! haha.
