It’s a Small World…

I got a letter from a blog reader and I thought I would share it with you. It’s a fun story from Barb.

Jo, you are never going to believe this. I have been following you for years and saw your recent post about Hanging out in Michigan. I currently live in Florida but I am from Michigan and grew up in Stevensville, a small town by St. Joe. 

I have a very dear friend, Allen Kavanaugh, who lives in Georgia and recently made a trip to Michigan for a family reunion.  He posted pictures of his trip on FB and I couldn’t help thinking, boy that man in the pictures really looks like Jo’s Rick. But thought” Na, that couldn’t be”. What are the chances?

Then I saw your post and pictures and put two and two together. It was Rick! And looking closer, I saw you and Rick in a group picture Allen posted!

Jackie is Allen’s sister, and Lois is Allen’s Aunt. Rick is Allen’s cousin.

So what are the chances that the lady in Iowa I have followed for years, loving her quilts and cross stitch, has a honey named Rick who has family in Michigan,  who is family to Allen, who is a dear friend of mine! Small world isn’t it?

Thought you would get a chuckle over this. Have Rick bring you back to Michigan in May when all the fruit trees are in bloom, and there are flowers everywhere.  Tulips, forsythia, daffodils, hyacinths you name it; they are all in bloom, and it’s so pretty there.

HA!! Wasn’t that a fun story? We spent extra time with Allen at his sister Jackie’s house and then out to supper to the Italian restaurant one night. It was great. Allen is a great guy, super sweet, and very fun. He’s a realtor, so if you’re looking for a house in Georgia or Florida, I believe he has his real estate license in both states. Give him a look.
