Today my latest quilt is featured on Moda Bake Shop…Chain of Faith. Â You’re going to have to stop over and check it out.
Here are ten reasons why I like this quilt….
1. Â The fabric line, Collections for a Cause Faith is amazing soft. Â It feels like I’ve had the quilt and washed it 20 times….it’s amazingly soft and feels well loved.
2. Â It’s red…my favorite color.
3. Â It truly is an easy project…much easier than it looks. Â If you need a graduation gift or a wedding gift, no fear, you can have a quilt easily made my then.
4. Â There is VERY little left over fabric. Â It’s my pet peeve when a pattern calls for two jelly rolls and I only used five strips of the second jelly roll. Â What am I suppose to do with the leftovers? Â This quilt uses almost two ENTIRE jelly rolls. Â The only fabric that’s left over are solid pieces of the jelly roll and these few small squares.
5. Â The quilt is the perfect size…86″ x 86″.
6. Â If you are like me and have a couple jelly rolls sitting around in your stash…and the fabric line is no longer available you can easily purchase a matching solid fabric for the corner stones, border and binding….it’s a great pattern to help you use it up. Â Then you’ll have room to purchase a new set of jelly rolls.
7. Â It’s a pattern or design anyone could like.
8. Â Did I tell how soft the fabric is…oh yah, I did. Â BUT it’s worth repeating….The fabric is SO soft.
9. Â I have the bestest neighbors that let me come over and invade their house to take pictures….her house if always clean…mine, not so much…her house makes the quilt look good.
10. Â That quilt keeps this girl warm…seeing her all cuddle up, makes me feel like she’s wrapped in my love.
See…it’s the perfect quilt….
Now if you’re wondering about  my beagle Gracie and why she didn’t make the photo shoot….she was injured with a sore toe when the photos were taken.  Here’s the story on that.  She’s better now.  I was going to snap a photo of her with the quilt for this post but….she went on a little adventure in a mud puddle…and needed a bath.  I didn’t want her to get the quilt all wet….that dog..it seems it’s always some type of adventure with her.

I love this pattern, downloaded already. Sorry to hear about Gracie, we also had a beagle named Gracie. She passed away in November. I missed her so much, I bought our puppy beagle Holly only a week later.

I like this quilt a lot. I am curious, however, why you feel this fabric is softer than other fabrics. Is is flannel? Is it finished differently?

I am so happy that you were able to get published on the MBS!! Congratulations! But reading your post…I bet you get frustrated with me, because I love having left over fabric and end up adding up the numbers “just in case”! I will have to try this one day! Love it! :D

I love your quilt and red is my favorite color. I notice one of bottom corners is turned to make a different design. Just curious, was that your intention or perhaps a design error when laying out your blocks? In any case, I like it, I think it makes your quilt unique and interesting!!! Thanks for the tutorial!!
Hi,I do love the quilt, and I think the moda collections for a cause fabrics are always the softest,I don’t know why! I did leave a question on moda bakeshop,before I thought of coming here, so sorry to repeat myself! The finished quilt looks different than the graph. The irish chain doesn’t cross on the bottom left of photo and the square above. my Eyes followed the x and it looks a bit off, am I seeing that right? Gail

Love this quilt! My ‘to do’ list just keeps growing and growing.
Thanks for the lovely pattern, Jo. I didn’t have the Faith “Collection for a Cause” (and talked myself out of buying it!) but I did have a fat quarter bundle of the Hope “Collection for a Cause” which will work quite well. I’m sure it will be a beautiful quilt and I will enjoy making it. I’m making one small change by adding a 4″ piano key border with my leftover strips to make the quilt a bit larger.
Greetings from Northern Saskatchewan CANADA. This is a wonderful pattern but the designer said at least twice to be careful to sew them together right and she still made a mistake. That bottom left (from MBS and also your own picture) is totally wrong. It still is a beautiful pattern and I can’t wait to try it!
