WOW….what a response to the Bucket List Challenge but more than that, to the Hawaiian Sunset 1945 quilt. Â It seems many of you have been, were or are now thinking of making the quilt. Â I am taking my challenge seriously so early this morning I was up and decided to cut the 2″ pieces for the four patches that go around the border.
I think I will set them by my old Singer machine and keep them as my leader and ender project for the month.
There were lots of emails and comments left by people wondering about the pattern for Hawaiian Sunset 1945 or back issues of the magazine. Â I did a little checking around. Â Here is a link to Quilter’s Newsletter’s website. Â You can order a back issue but it appears that it is only available as a download and not a hard copy.
I have known that I was going to make this quilt for some time so I have been collecting appropriate fabrics and have a stack, but some of you were concerned about collecting fabrics to make it. Â If enough people ask, I will do a little checking around and see if I can find a quilt shop that can put together a bundle of poison greens, yellows, pinks and blues. Â Just let me know in the comment section if that’s something you might be looking for…or email me at rogjok@iowatelecom.net.
I am so excited…I’ve been REALLY wanting to make this quilt and now even if it is baby steps…it’s going to happen!!
and no…I didn’t forget about the winners of the Quilt Square Quilt Along. Â I’ll be back later today with that.
Wow, you’re at it early! Thanks so some wicked heartburn, I’ve been awake since 3 a.m. but did I do any sewing? NO! I’ve been trying to unearth my kitchen table and counters. Have fun with your bucket list!
Hawaiian Sunset quilt is very Bonnie Hunterish to me. Whose quilt is it?
Love the quilt pattern but the link is broke. Can I get a copy from you?
