Well, I am late but it’s time to report on my Charming Girls Quilt Club. Since I’m late to report anyway, I’ll give you a peak at the small quilt top I finished.
This is my quilt top that I finished as part of the Country Threads, Civil War Reproduction Club that I belong to. The pattern is entitled “Blue and Gray”. I haven’t decided if this is going to be a wall hanging or what. It’s just an odd size 40 x 48. The little Red Cross blocks are so eye catching…fun to make too!
I love the look of it. The colors are great….just an odd size…my daughter suggested a baby boy quilt…any suggestions?
Back to my Charming Girls report…last month my goals were:
Finish this “Blue and Gray” quilt-Top is done, still not quilted
Finish my “Patchwork Times” mystery quilt–Still not quilted
Quilt Kayla’s quilt-WOW, a finish!
Finish the new August Schnibble-WOW, another Finish!
Machine quilt a Moda Bake Shop Quilt–still not quilted
Complete my Crazy Mom Quilt a Long quilt –Top is done, still not quilted
…UGH! see what happens when my quilting machine goes to the repair shop…NOTHING!
I did finish the Between Charming Friends Quilt and I started about three more projects….but they weren’t on my goal list!
Apparently, I am not real good at making goals and sticking to them…or in truth, it was the Accuquilt Go! Cutter that made me fail on my Charming Girls List.
I have just plain out been having too much fun with my new Go! Cutter. New dies have come on several different days, and I am just too tempted to not try a few blocks.
Goals for this month…
Two ironing board covers-FINISHED ALREADY
Start Patchwork Times Upcoming Quilt a Long
Work on the new Schnibble-Squares are cut already THANKS to the Go!
Work on TWO secret projects
Check out a new to me project I heard about, Hazel’s Diary Quilt.
Honestly, this month, I don’t plan on getting much done at all….I have a very BUSY teaching schedule in the upcoming two months. I will be glad to just get a few minutes of quilting each day. For those of you who don’t know about my “real” job, I teach continuing education classes for childcare providers. I also work on my website, www.makinglearningfun.com, it’s an early education website, filled with free printables for teachers and parents of young children. Feel free to check out the quilting theme section..it’s my favorite.
By the looks of it, I won’t be very “Charming” next month either….UGH….
Before I sign off…here’s a reminder: Today is the last day to sign up to win the Accuquilt Go! Cutter. Today is also the last day to sign up to win my trivet kit. The giveaways close at midnight tonight central time. The winners will be announced tomorrow.
you are right about the little red crosses – they caught my eye immediately …
Oh that quilt is so pretty! I haven’t gotten too much done lately. I fully expected to have several charity quilts finished last weekend and it still hasn’t happened. I feel like such a slacker! lol
I’d love to win the trivet supplies, that’s such a cute idea..
I love the quilt. Please enter my email address to get your blog. Susan
Atleast you got more done today than I did….
Beautiful quilt. I too love the Charming Girls Club, but I way behind on my homework!
