Hubby’s Latest Auction

Yep…he did it again.  He went to another auction.

This time he came home with a Baker’s Cupboard.  It need lots of work but he’s willing to do it.

Vintage-1

I love the barrel drawers along the bottom.

Vintage-2

He purchased it for $40.  That is a perfect amount.

The hardware came with it so at least we won’t be scrambling to find new drawer pulls.  Our garage is getting full of projects that he hopes to work on this winter…I’d complain but…I have a room of fabric and a stack of UFO projects that need a little attention too and like him, I haven’t stopped buying.

  1. This is also called a Possum Belly and would have a hutch type top to go with it. Some had metal or zinc tops. Also rollers on the feet. My Aunt had one. Wish I could go back in time and ask for it! ;-) Saw one online somewhere painted red loved it! Lucky you to have a DH to go to auctions! Enjoy!

  2. Girl, he finds some of the best things. I love this! I loved your post about the planter and meant to come back by and tell you, but the week got away from me! I have wanted one of those laundry bins for years. I keep telling myself I will find one for a good price. Happy VTT!

  3. My dad restored one for my sister. She’s used it between two comfortable chairs with a lamp on it, etc…., and right now has it behind her sofa as a “sofa table” of sorts. So many uses for this beautiful old piece. Can’t wait to see the finished project.

  4. Love your Possum Belly cabinet! Such a great find. I found one years ago in a used
furniture shop. Be sure & let us know when it gets refurbished.
