House Update

I have been waiting a long time to write this blog post.  I am finally getting to see what the house might look like once it’s all finished.

I knew they would be putting siding on soon but wasn’t sure when.  Kalissa had to work this morning a 6-2 shift.  On her way home she drove past out new house.  She immediately called me and said mom…I see some gray.  That’s when I knew I had to go into town tonight to see for myself.   At about 5 pm I called Kalissa and asked if she wanted to walk to the dogs with me.  The plan was to walk the dogs making sure we walked around the block out house is on so we could get a good look.

I drove past the front of the house but no siding.  I wondered if she was mistaken.

I picked up Kalissa and Betsy and we started walking towards my house.  As we came around the bend, I saw this!  It’s my house!!

I talked to Kalissa and she said that the south side of the house was about this far along when she drove by at 2:30pm but she didn’t see the activity in the back.

WOW…I am impressed and I love it!

When we were deciding on color we went back and forth.  It almost ended up white simply because we didn’t know what we wanted and white is never really “wrong”.  Then we almost went with a light gray as Hubby thought this was too dark.  I had wanted a darker more of a blue/gray color.  Once I got Hubby convinced that the darker color would be okay, he thought the gray would be fine.  I really like it and am eager to see the entire house finished.  They do have a few pieces on the garage back wall and north wall.

When I talked last to the carpenter the plan is to keep working on siding unless it rains.  Then they’ll move in and start sheet rock.  Either way, I can’t loose.  Sheet rock or siding…I am saying YES. YES.  YES to either option.

So is it safe to start packing yet??
