I was at the thrift store last week and came across this little cross stitched piece. I thought it was kind of cute and could go somewhere in the new house..only problem, it had a few stains.
It was only 50 cents so I just bought it and thought I would live with it. Then I thought to tea dye the whole thing and then the stains wouldn’t be noticeable. So I took the cross stitch out of the frame and got my tea dye.
I sprayed it quite heavily and then let it dry.
Here’s what it looks like now…the darker spots are still there but being it’s all darker, the spots don’t seem wrong.
I am hoping this will go in of the upstairs bedrooms. I am thinking one with be grey walls and this would look cute there.
I love 50 cents finds…and I love my thrift stores!!
Can you imagine how many hours went into making that wall hanging.? Great grandma probably made that and no one else wanted it. It finally found a good home.
Love what you did with the sampler. I am drawn to the aged/prim look. It will be a wonderful addition to your new home.
I hope that if my cross stitch ends up in a thrift store, someone who loves it will buy it. Great find!
A great find and a fabulous save!
