Holly’s Quilts

Last summer at our retreat with Bonnie Hunter I met so many great new people.  One of them was Holly.  I even wrote a blog post about Holly’s work.  She’s wonderful with color.  If you missed that blog post, read it here.  Holly showed us a couple more projects she was working on that I didn’t get photos of.  One was her Loosey Goosey blocks.  Amazing!!

Anyway.  I opened my email the other day and was pleasantly surprised…there was a note from Holly saying, “I just finished the two quilts from your book that we started at the retreat in Olewein! I LOVE them both…in fact, Thanks to You is my new favorite! My daughter loves May Flowers. You have created amazing designs that are fun to make!”

Aw…isn’t that sweet.  Sweeter yet was that she included picture of her quilts….

Want to see?

LOOKING GOOD…right?  I sure am impressed.

This quilt gave me a whole new appreciation for background fabric.  I love printed little gems.

Here Holly even took a great picture to show the quilting and the fun fabric background.  I love it!

She also included a picture of her quilt top of May Flowers.

Thank you – thank you for sharing Holly.  Seeing your finished tops really made my day!!

You can find both of these quilts in our book Country Girl Modern.   If you’re interested in learning more about the book or ordering, you can find that information here.

So how about you other ladies from the retreat….anyone else have pictures of your completed quilt top that you’d like to share.  Kelli and I would love to see them…I’m sure the blog readers would too!

  1. Great work Holly! Love, love, love them. No finishes for me yet…. been too busy working on publishing my own patterns and now the purchase and soon to be open Quilting Retreat in Texas. Can’t wait to finish them though.

  2. That first one really caught my eye. So much attention to detail with the background every bit as lovely as those stars. Very inspiring.

I’m working on them!! I’m concentrating on May Flowers right now! I love it! I’m using up my Downton Abbey fabrics with black centers! Thanks for designing such cool quilts!! I’ll send pictures when I’m done!

  4. I am using the Thanks to You star points as my L & E. Retreat starts Friday morning through Sunday. . .I wonder how many I can crank out????
