A post from Kelli–
A few weeks ago, I shared with you some pictures that I’d taken after looking out my window after a lovely rainstorm. Yesterday was kind of a repeat. The weather here has been a bit off the wall and all over the place lately. Yesterday afternoon, it was raining and just kept raining. It was the kind of raining that it was pouring and I seriously thought there was likely something that broke in the sky and it just broke wide open.
Eventually it ended up raining itself out and then about 5 minutes later, you would have never even guessed that it would have rained. The sky was blue and clear with just a few little clouds. The bad thing however was that the rain didn’t cool anything off. It only started steaming everything up–and kept steaming it up.
After all of the childcare kids left, I talked mom and dad into supper at Riverside, our little bar in town. Often times, mom and I walk down to get our steps in and then meet dad there. We did that this time also. When we were getting ready to leave, dad left a bit early and I stayed and paid the bill and got Jason’s supper to go. By the time we were leaving about 5 minutes later, we got a bit concerned becasue the sky was getting really dark again and we knew it was going to rain. It had started sprinkling, so we took the short cut home. And then it rained…and rained…and rained…Dad went out spotting for tornadoes as they had reports of funnel clouds about an hour away. I packed up my stuff and left…and it rained…and rained…and rained. Then I drove home all through the rain. When I got home, it was still raining and pouring. I got in the house with the dog and it stopped about a half hour later.
I was working on a stitching project and checked my facebook quick and saw that people were posting about a rainbow, so I jumped up and looked outside and this is what I saw!
See the odd glow? That’s not my camera. It was just a weird glow that was everywhere from the sun going down. You can see the rainbow there if you look close.
I thought this picture was kind of odd too just by how it was blue on one side and more pink on the other.
And this was the sunset on the other side of the house. Again–Kind of odd, but it really was kind of glowing in the strangest way.
Hopefully it decides to quit raining everyday soon! We have developed a big crack of sorts in our driveway form all of the rain coming so fast that has just carried the gravel down to the end of the driveway!
