Monday I took an extra day off of childcare. Â I am so glad I did. Â I felt really good …I think I just needed a mental health day along with a little more time to recuperate.
I spent part of the day in the sewing room doing a little tidying and simple piecing. Â I just needed something simple and relaxing.
While I was cleaning I came across the leftovers from my Jingle Bell Square quilt top.
Hmmm…I know I don’t have another Christmas quilt in me for awhile so why not package this all up and send it on. Â I asked Kelli if she wanted it and she wasn’t interested. Â I told her I was going to hold a giveaway for it on the blog then. Â She said go for it.
Would you like to win the box of goodies? So here’s the deal. Â I have a box of leftovers of Christmas fabric. Â There is not enough to make the quilt but enough for a start. Â I also have the Quiltmaker magazine that has pattern for Jingle Bell Square in it. Â I did not follow the directions in the magazine, I cut all of my quilt using a companion ruler. Â That means that a portion of the fabric is cut into 1 1/2″ and 2 1/2″ strips. Â It also means that if you want to make the quilt you’d need to make it using the converted instructions I wrote about here.
If you forgot what the quilt looks like, here’s  a picture of my quilt top.
Included in the gift box will be the magazine, miscellaneous Christmas fabric as well as fabrics cut into  1 1/2″ and 2 1/2″ strips.
If you would like a chance to win just leave a comment here telling if you have ever made a bed sized Christmas quilt before. Â We’ll pick a winner next week.
I have made a bed sized Christmas quilt but it is really only twin size and I end up hanging over the railing in my entry because I don’t use any of the twin beds. I think it would be fun fot make a Christmas quilt for my queen sized bed but I haven’t done it yet. Your Jingle Bell Square is lovely!
It is so good to hear you are feeling well! By the way I love the picture of the baby on Kelli’s Instagram! Any relation?
I have made a bed size Christmas quilt –two in fact but they both need to be quilted!
Made one Xmas quilt out of blocks I did in an exchange on AOL on the 90’s. i have some leftover blocks and hope to turn them into gift quilt. I like the Jingle Bell quilt and would love to do it, especially as I will be down for 6 weeks after Monday and surgery. Mary Ann
I have made your Christmas Star Quilt. It is still folded over the back of the couch. I so enjoy looking at it. Thank you for that free pattern.
Oh, what a coincidence! After just finishing two small Halloween quilts, I began thinking about doing a Christmas one (and hopefully getting it done before Christmas — LOL!). I had admired the one you did and thought about buying the digital pattern and pulling Christmas fabrics. Please enter my name in your drawing.
I do not have a Christmas quilt of my own as of yet. I do have another Simply Woven cut out in Christmas fabrics, we’ll see if I get to keep this one or if a family member comes along and “really, really” would like to have it! lol What a great giveaway. I would love to have a scrappy quilt with YOUR scraps in it!! Thank you for the chance to win!!
How fun! I’ve never made a bed-sized Christmas Quilt, but I do have an English-Paper-Pieced Christmas quit that’s one of our favorite “couch quilts” (throw sized).
I have a Christmas quilt on my bed but I didn’t make it. I found it at a garage sale. I would love to make one someday for my daybed in my sewing room.
I have never completed a bedsize Christmas quilt. I am in the process of making Carolina Christmas, another Bonnie Hunter pattern, but I need to find the right inner border fabric. Jingle Bell Square is another one I really want to make!!! I really appreciate the chance to win this “starter” box for it!! Thanks so much!!
Oh yes I’ve made a bed sized Christmas quilt. Took two BOMs, made each of them in Christmas fabrics, made an extra star block and set the whole thing on point. We call it The Beast.
My next Christmas quilt goal is to actually make a wall hanging of a tree that I will hang as a quilted curtain. Then I can easily put up my tree and be done each year – LOL!
I have never made a Christmas quilt. Would love to make one with all your left overs. I love the quilt you made. Hope you have a fast recovery with all the surgery. And congratulations on your first grandchild. My fourth one will be here in August. It’s a boy. ackerman4455@yahoo.com
I made a Christmas throw but never a bed size. I’d like to try that. So if I win, that would be the push I need to get started on a full size Christmas quilt!
I made two Christmas quilts last year and donated them to a local women’s shelter at Christmastime. Still haven’t made one for myself!
Thanks for the giveaway. Your quilt is awesome! Byes, I’ve made Bonnie’s Carolina Christmas which is a great pattern.
Ive never made a Christmas themed quilt. My first foray into quilting was a Christmas mug rug that is buried DEEP in a drawer.
I’ve made two twin-size Christmas quilts that are not yet quilted, and many Christmas throw and wallhanging size quilts. I love to make Christmas quilts and have them all over the house to make it extra cozy for the season. Love your version of the quilt.
I haven’t made a Christmas quilt yet, but I keep meaning to!
Never have but there’s always a first time! I’d put it to good use.
Your quilt is lovely. I have yet to make a Christmas quilt. Winning this would give me a extra kick to do just that. I am glad you are on the road to recovery.
I have made a Christmas themed quilt, but it’s not bed size. I would call it a large lap size and I usually hang it up for the holidays. It’s a BOM applique quilt I ordered from my first visit to Houston Festival. I love it. Glad you are feeling better. Thanks for the giveaway.
I’ve never made a christmas quilt at all, but I’d love to.
I haven’t made a bed sized Cristmas quilt but have made 2 Christmas couch quilts. I would love to make Jingle Bell Square!
I made one from a Joann’s block of the month in red and green and have a BH one in red and green. These would go for a kid’s top for the Flying Horse Ranch in Ohio.
I have not made a full-size Christmas Quit.
I have made a couple Christmas quilts…one is similar to a One Block Wonder, the other more traditional. I have been collecting “holly” fabrics for 5 years with the plan to make a quilt using a piece of each them…I have enough now to make quite a few quilts. I love your Jingle Bell Square!!
I haven’t even made a Christmas quilt, let alone a bed sized one :-)
I’ve made a bed sized Christmas quilt top from swap blocks, I simply haven’t quilted it yet — have backing fabric and batting. Last year it even made it on my Crazy Challenge II list as a bonus project. Maybe this year I’ll get it done, but who knows.
I have a Christmas Cactus quilt started, it is a strip piece or log cabin style . It is on my goals to finish before Christmas and hang in my den.
I have never made a Christmas quilt of any sort, but this is one quilt that is on my bucket list. I would love to win these strips and pattern!
Nope. I did manage a table runner this year. I’d love to win, thanks for the chance.
I have not made a Christmas bed size quilt. Your leftover fabrics would be a great start!
Hi Jo – what a nice giveaway. I have never made a Christmas quilt of ANY size !! LOL. So this would be a great way to start ! thanks.
I have not made a bed-sized christmas quilt. I’ve always made christmas tree skirts with my christmas fabric, but I love this pattern and would enjoy combining my scraps with yours to create it. Thanks for the chance to win.
I don’t have a Christmas quilt and haven’t ever made one. I just did my first Bonnie Hunter quilt, the Alletaire mystery this year and loved it. It isn’t done yet, but is close! Would love to win this so I have another Bonnie quilt in the works
I have never made a Christmas quilt. I tend to lean toward colors that I would use in other quilts, so never have collected Christmas fabrics. Would love to use your extras, and thanks for thinking of us.

No, I’ve never made a bed sized Christmas quilt but I love Christmas fabric, especially red and green.
Have always wanted a bed size christmas quilt but the biggest I’ve made has been a large couch throw. This could be a fun project. And a reason to get out my Christmas stash and do something with it.
I have not made a bed sized Christmas quilt before. Or any other size. But, we were discussing last December that a Christmas quilt might be a nice addition to our household. We don’t do the holidays ‘big’. My hubby gets a little depressed by how all the commericialism gets so much attention and the quiet miracle and meaning gets a bit lost. But he did agree that a Christmas quilt would not add to that over blown excess stress for him.
I’ve never made a bed sized Christmas quilt …I’ve never made any size Christmas quilt! Thanks for the giveaway.
I’m working on a queen size Christmas quilt right now and I need to make 4 more. This would be a great start for me. Thanks for the chance to win.
I’ve made a large lap size quilt, but not one big enough for a bed. Thanks for the draw. Glad you are feeling better.
Haven’t made one yet but I love, love your Christmas Star quilt and tutorial. That one would be at the top of my “to do” list!
Ohhhhhhh…..I would love to win Christmas fabric. Thanks for this chance
I love making Christmas quilts. I have made a few over the years. I love the one you made. I would be happy to use your leftovers to make a Christmas quilt for my sister who doesn’t have a bed size one yet. She is always making things for everyone else at Christmas. My first ever Christmas quilt came from her and brought me to tears of joy when I received it. It is time to return the favor. Thanks for the chance to win some of your fabrics.
HAHAHA … a real actual quilt for my very own bed – you have got to be kidding – never in my wildest dreams! BUT, you got me thinking … I wouldn’t mind trying that, just once! However, it is a California King (since I live in CA) soooo me thinks that would be huge, but why not go for a runner at the foot of the bed? AND … if there’s fabric left over 1 or 2 or 3 accent pillows (which are currently not in existence in my bedroom)! So YES, make me go out of my “normal” and go for it, I would love to have Christmas come to my bedroom this year!!
I love Bonnie’s quilts and have had her Jingle Bell Square on the distant horizon. But I could move it up, especially with some strips cut to size. I too, would use the companion rulers. Thanks for the chance to win.
I have made several bed sized quilts before, but none for Christmas. How fun it would be to have a special Christmas quilt. Thanks for a chance to win.
A day off sounds like it was needed, enjoy yourself and feel better fast!
I have made a bed sized quilt – bear paw blocks alternating with log cabin blocks. It was one of my early quilts, and I have it out year round.

I made three identical Christmas quilts last year – one for each of my daughters and one for me!!
Not King sized but Queen sized for my bed. Would be fun to do again. Maybe over the Summer.

I made Bonnie Hunter’s Celtic Solstice from red, green, brown and gold. So, it is considered my “bed-Size” Christmas quilt! Love scrap quilts!
I fell in love with your Jingle Bell quilt and would love to win this. I don’t have a Christmas quilt yet of any size, and not enough red and green scraps to make one, so this would be a bonus. Thanks for the opportunity!
This quilt pattern is awesome! I have made a throw sized Christmas quilt that I use as a tablecloth. Thanks!

I made a king sized Carolina Christmas scrap quilt a couple of years ago, but it still isn’t quilted.
I love your Jingle Bell square quilt it turned out lovely. I would love to make one and your scraps would be a nice addition to mine to make one. I want to make another Christmas quilt. I did Bonnie’s mystery quilt this year in all Christmas colors by substituting scrappy greens for her grey. I love it, I am sewing the rows together today. I love Christmas quilts. I am currently working on a crocheted afghan too using berry red, 2 shades of greens, black and grey. Someday I want to make Bonnie’s Carolina Christmas quilt too. Hope you have a wonderful day Jo.

mase one with 2 1/2 & 1 1/2″ strips so have those to add to what you have in the box.
I have never made a Christmas quilt but I have collected several Christmas quilt patterns. Its my favorite holiday and I always decorate most every room in the house! I’ve been quilting for 2 1/2 years now and there is always someone special that I want to make a quilt for as a gift. I’ve been putting off making that special Christmas quilt for myself but I know how lovely it would look draped across the back of my sofa and I can image my husband and I cuddled up in it in the evening as we watch television. Good luck to everyone and Merry Christmas all year long!
Haven’t made a Christmas quilt for the bed. On my list when I retire.
