From the Camera Roll

Quite often, I get a bunch of pictures that on their own aren’t worthy of a blog post. Sometimes I throw them together into one post…today is one of those days.

Ila sent Gannon a book about cats and he was over the moon about it.

I took Anders to story hour last week, and he made this cute cardinal craft.

They read cardinal books too. I normally don’t see many cardinals at my feeder, and then the next day I saw one!! See the red??

I was coming home from Decorah last week. Traffic was stopped at the railroad crossing. I couldn’t figure out what they were doing, but then I started paying attention. They were putting the truck on the tracks. Have you ever seen a truck driving on the train tracks and wondered how they make that work? I have and now I know!!

Kayla brought me another vintage stitched piece. I love this one.

I have a collection of them in one of my spare bedrooms.

You can see the other pieces and read about my collection HERE.

I saw these on Instagram and would love to stitch them. They are from Kim Diehl.

I love the pieced borders for finishing them. I really would like to stitch these!! I checked it out they are small…just look bigger because of the finishing and borders. So fun!!

That’s what was in my camera roll that I haven’t blogged about…but now I have!!

    1. Sally they may have to make repairs to the track that there is no accessible road to get to the area. I live in central Nebraska in an area that it is common to see trucks on the tracks. I had a friend whose husband drove a pickup on the tracks, it was called “running the rails”. There were sensors in the wheels on the tracks and a computer that gave a read out. It would tell where there was the possibility of the tracks buckling in hot weather or separating in cold weather, or other imperfections and could cause a derailment.

      1. Donita, that makes perfect sense! It is very interesting. Thank you for explaining! I will keep an eye out for a truck on the tracks from now on.

  1. We used to have trains everywhere here. The trucks were common. I consider our feeder to be very lucky as we have a family of about 10 cardinals and their spouses. Yesterday it was raining and still somewhat dark when I got up and I could hear them singing. They are particularly pretty when it snows.

    1. Gloria in Charles City who is a blog reader and friend of mine has an AWESOME husband, Gaylen. He made it for me! It was one of my favorite gifts ever.

  2. I love Anders’ cardinal picture! He did a great job!! Im a fan of a couple Cardinals sports teams…St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Louisville Cardinals basketball. Im looking forward to March Madness.
