This morning I showed you a picture of my doodling…well I practice on the white board, loaded a quilt top and tried it in real life.
With this little top behind my belt I can now say for certain that my quilting machine is up and running. I am so happy about that. Â Moving it really had me a little nervous.
Sadly, all I can show you is the backing. Â This is a project that will likely be in a future publication. Â Isn’t a fun backing?? Â That big plaid fabric inspired the entire quilt.
I got the piece at a thrift store and really liked the colors together. Â There’s gray, black, white, teal and that yellow-green. Â The bit across the top is actually the sleeve of the quilt.
You can see how some of my doodling came to life.  I actually added some filler between the original motif.  I will be doing this again for sure.  It was a fun design and is a take on the one that is featured on the front cover of the book Step-by-Step Free-Motion Quilting: Turn 9 Simple Shapes into 80+ Distinctive Designs Best-selling author of First Steps to Free-Motion Quilting
Of course the dogs had to get in on the photo taking….
I didn’t have a treat in my hand to get Ruby to perk up so she looks a little dower.
I really love the look of the little quilt I made. Â Keep stopping by and we’ll let you know where you can find this quilt and when you can actually see the front of it!!
I am off to get this packaged and into tomorrow’s mail. Â It needs to be in Colorado by Friday.
How exciting!!!!
Jo, you do know that a Beagle won Top Dog at the Westminster dog show and I thought about Ruby, your Top Dog
