Friday Finish: The Big Announcement!!

Kelli and I have our biggest finish ever today and an announcement to make.  First let me show you our quilt..or should I say quilts?

FridayFinish
I know-the pictures is a little disappointing in that you don’t actually get to see the pretty side.  But you do get to see that backs!!

So are you wondering why we have 14 quilts stacked up in a pile?  Are you wondering why we can’t show you fronts?  Well wonder no more.

Kelli and I have a book deal going on with Kansas City Star Publishing.  They created a new division called My Stars that features quilts that are a bit more modern….no worries.  We didn’t drop way off the deep end of modern but we did pull out lots of bright more modern prints and create some fun quilts with them.

Kelli and I submitted our proposal in January after Kelli found out she was getting laid off.  A couple weeks later we got the green flag and have been frantically sewing ever since trying to meet a May deadline.  Besides these 14 quilts we’ve also sewn 3 magazine quilts….so 17 quilts since January 25th.  We’ve both gone a bit crazy….

With work on the house, Kelli’s wedding and Kelli going back to college, it’s been pretty frantic…let’s just say, if we do it again, we’re hoping for a little bit longer of a processing time.

We still have a little bit of writing to do before we get everything sent in but we’re close….oh so close and glad we can finally let you all know why we haven’t been as good of bloggers as we should have been.  Right now, we’re a ways out from publishing.  We don’t expect any books to get to us until early 2015.  Trust me, we’ll keep you posted.

We are just dying to sew something without a deadline….but first we have to find our sewing rooms.  They are bad….REALLY BAD…and Kelli has to get her wedding thank yous written too.  We are so thankful that everyone has been so patient with us.

Today, we are hooking up with……Confessions of a Fabric Addict, Link a Finish Friday, Freedom Fridays, and Crazy Mom Quilts.
