Friday Finish: My Flag Pincushion

Can you believe I’ve had this pattern for over two years and am finally finishing it??  I’ve had it cut out and in my traveling stitchy bag for a year and a half but I don’t travel that much and when I do, I seem to be the driver and if I’m not, I seem to have a project that need to be pinned.

Anyway when Kelli and I went to Kansas City for the photo shoot for our new book, Country Girl Modern, I brought along my stitchy bag….I didn’t even remember what was in it…just knew I’d likely have a little stitchy time in the hotel and I’d be content with whatever was in it.

In my bag…my flag pincushion.

Pincushion-1
The only thing I needed to do was to stitch the red stripes down.  In a half hour it was all stitched and back in the stitchy bag.

I bought the pattern for this some time ago when I went with the Country Threads gals to Cincinnati.  The pattern is a Primitive Gatherings offering.  Oh I love their stuff.  I wish I had more time to make them…I especially love the wool offerings.

Pincushion-2
I didn’t put buttons on mine but now I am thinking maybe I should have…I always can.

It’s nice to have this checked off the list and finished…This pincushion will likely be the pincushion at the guest sewing machine at the new house.

We’ll be hooking up with Confessions of a Fabric Addict, Crazy Mom Quilts, and Link a Finish Friday.
