I deserve mother of the year award…well at least mother of the day award. Â Kelli loves sewing but hates finishing…so who finishes her projects..ME!! Â That’s why I deserve mother of the day awards.
This is Lincoln, a Miss Rosie Schnibble pattern. Â I just love it. Â I made a larger version in Red, white, and blue a few years ago…I loved that version too. Â You can see it here.
Silly Ruby was insistant that she wanted to be in the picture. Â Can you believe how cute she is?? Â I laid out the quilt. Â She jumped on it. Â I snapped two picture and gave her a treat. Â She is so good at posing.
I used a tan thread-Superior #425. Â LOVE THAT THREAD!! Â It goes well with everything.
Just a simple stipple. Â It’s my go to design on small quilts. Â It is so relaxing to do.
The backing is a flannel from Goodwill that I picked up. Â I thought it was about perfect.
The fabric is an old Moda line except for the binding.  I hunted and hunted to find something in my stash that would work. I finally came up with an orange-y Moda fabric.  It’s from their “Grunge” line.  I loved it…and I followed my daughter Kalissa (the daughter that doesn’t sew)’s  rule.  Always pick the darkest color in your quilt and use that for the binding.  I have to admit, it’s good advice.
Now Kelli has a completed quilt ready to give away as a baby present…and I have Mom for the day award!!
Today, we are hooking up with……Confessions of a Fabric Addict, Link a Finish Friday, Freedom Fridays, and Crazy Mom Quilts.
Love this quilt…what a good mama!! And love Kalissa’s rule!! Must remember that one!!
P
Love the quilt! Yes, Jo, you are a good mother and don’t let your kids forget that!
My mother would always finish things for me, especially hems. (I hate hems).
It is a nice mother that finishes up a quilt. Great Finish
