I’ve been really busy working on the double wedding ring quilt for Kelli’s wedding. It takes a lot of pinning to get everything in place. So much that I’ve run out of pincushion space. I decided to take an old orphan block and make it into a pincushion.
In fact, the orphan block was in a bag of scrap fabric I bought at Goodwill some time back.
The pincushion isn’t anything fancy but oh my, it’s going to make working on those blocks much easier.
I know some people claim that this many pins aren’t needed but this is working for me so I’m sticking with it.
Today, we are hooking up with……Confessions of a Fabric Addict, Link a Finish Friday,Freedom Fridays, Quilt Story, and Crazy Mom Quilts.
I made a scrap pin cushion and inserted a ribbon in it and tied it on my sewing machine. Now no more picked pin cushion off the floor. Love it
That’s a good one, Jo. Pins and you’re sticking with it! :) Thanks for my morning smile.
Yes, pinning can be tedious, but the results show in the end. I’m like you, lots and lots of pins. But sometimes the worst thing happens…am busy sewing along, removing pins as I go, then I look to see that my bobbin has run out of thread 12 inches earlier! Grr…re-pin re-pin re-pin…
Visiting from crazy mum quilts. Cute pincushion. Can’t wait to see the finished wedding ring quilt
