A post from Kelli–
Most of the time it’s Mom who has a finish, but today is my day…well, kind of. My version of a “finished” quilt means that the center is done. I don’t really like putting on borders, quilting, or binding. As such, I have a plethora (probably around8 large and 8 small) of quilts that are finished to my specifications. So when I heard that a co-worker’s father-in-law had recently had a stroke and his family was planning a benefit, I immediately knew that I wanted to finish a quilt. When sorting through my trunk of quilts, I came across this completed top that I had previously made using the Charity Crosses pattern from Moda Bakeshop. I added two squares from my stash and made the quilt 6 blocks by 7 blocks.
Puppycat was even cooperative when I was taking pictures!
I’m so glad that she is growing up and getting better about taking pictures.
I’m writing this a bit late at night and I’m pretty sure this is Puppy’s way of saying that she’s ready for bed!
Today, I am hooking up with……Confessions of a Fabric Addict, Link a Finish Friday, Freedom Fridays and Crazy Mom Quilts.
Great finish. It’s beautiful! (And, it’s inspiring! Now, I’m thinkin’ I need to make something like this with that stack of shirt fabrics I’ve got …)
What a great finish. I love the colors.
Looks good, and what an adorable quilt inspector!
Great quilt. Love the fabrics & color schemes
Love your new finish! It will surely be a comfort and pleasure for the gentleman receiving it.
Puppycat is doing a great modeling job. She’s adorable :-)
I like it! The quilting looks nice too!!!
I love the finish kelli! and that you share your passion w your mom! Miss that w my kids, none interested in sewing. I wanted to share w you and your mom a UFO I am making bc your mom is also (not) making the same UFO. Yesterday I bought fabric at the International quilt festival and I have my fabrics on my web page: http://queencityquilter.blogspot.com/
would like comments on the fabric choices which should I use????
Cute quilt! And that is one nice thing about having several tops nearly done. You have more variety when picking one for a quick finish when you want to give one for an occasion such as this.
Awww :) What a perfect model for your gorgeous quilt!
Gorgeous quilt! Cute doggy too!
