Remember this book is Parallel Lines by Pamela Goecke Dinndorf that our blog reader Linda from Minnesota gifted us?
Remember this quilt that I’ve started collecting fabrics for???
For it I need black striped fabric. I’ve been trying to find black striped 100% cotton shirts. I’ve not had the best of luck. I’ve found one here or there. Blog readers have sent a couple to me.
As much as I liked the quilt I was beginning to think I wouldn’t get to make it until WAY in the future. Collecting was so slow. I thought to just give up on black and switch to making it in blues but that didn’t seem right. I thought to give up I liked the quilt just the way it was…so I needed to be patient.
Then last week when I was at the thrift store I hit the jackpot. I found these….
It wasn’t a big jackpot but it was enough that it made me believe that maybe, just maybe if I add these with what I already have plus a couple more, I might be able to find enough shirts.
The original quilt it only throw size. Of course, I’d like mine queen sized….So I’m going to keep collecting.
Today we are in Rochester. I had my tests for my returned thyroid cancer this afternoon…tomorrow is the doctor appointment where hopefully we’ll learn a little more.
I’m treating myself to a trip to Saver’s and a trip to Salvation Army. My hope is that I can find a couple more shirts.
