The days are winding down to the start of school around here. My adult daughters know that their kiddos are going to miss cousin days when the grandkids are all here and playing so last week, we organized one. Here is a photo bomb of pictures from that day…
The adults spent much of the day cooking and the kids spent much of the day playing…here Georgia is helping me make cinnamon rolls.

Carver said that these were the best ones I’ve ever made.

Check out my youngest grandson Anders. He’s gotten so big!! He’s pulling himself up and starting to walk around furniture now.

Lunch was top ten amazing. Cucumber salad, tomatoes with basil and mozzarella with balsamic..and the main dish, eggplant parmesan. It was all so-so good!!

We made a batch of puppy chow…Recipe HERE.

I made a batch of Cheerio Bars too. The kids just love them. Recipe HERE.

Here are the kids at nap time…Carver and Anders…

Jasper and Georgia…

…and Gannon!

My son Karl joined us for supper. He brought over a purple cabbage he grew in his garden. Karl and Carver have a great teasing relationship.

Kayla was the star of supper!! She made meet for the tacos-it was so good! Kalissa put the tacos together. Kayla also made homemade Mexican Rice and Refried Beans. They were both better than any I’ve ever had. WOW.

The company was awesome! The food was awesome too. WOWZA…we all agreed we ate too much and it was the very best eating we’ve all had in some time.
It was such a fun day. I have plans to make and share the recipes from Kayla but I have to try to make them first…oh, SO-SO good!!!
It sounds like you had a great day! Thanks for sharing your photos with us. The children are growing up so quickly!
Cousin days are so much fun. The food had my mouth watering. Your Grands are shooting up.!!!!!!! Thanks for a good start to my day.
I can’t wait for the recipe for the Mexican rice and Refried beans.. Thanks for sharing.
Shoot me an em — my husband is Mexican Am and we have most of his mothers recipes from the “old country” – SO SO easy to make.
Jo you are the best, making time for your kids and grandkids. This is hard for both of my kids live out of state. We are having our grandson from near Chicago here before he starts back to school. This year has just flew by.
Hope the job is going well and glad it is just part time to allow you your ME time also.
Looks like your running a preschool. lol
Those kids are getting so big, and are so cute. What a fun day for all the family. That homegrown purple cabbage looks beautiful. Fresh picked is the best. Your foods from that day all look so yummy.
You are so lucky to be able to pull that off, and they are lucky to have you.
