Today, we had another no school day. One of my old childcare families called and asked if the kids could come over and I immediately said YES!! I miss the kiddos a lot but not enough to start childcare again.
Marisa and I made some Christmas goodies….These are SUPER simple and something you can easily make with help from your kids…in fact, it’s a good math activity for kids teaching them one to one correspondence.
Have the children lay small pretzels out on your cookie sheet. Have them place on Rolo candy on each pretzel. Bake the pretzels in a 350 oven for 5 minutes. Remember to set the timer…it’s a great way for kids to understand how long five minutes is.
Take the pan out and press an M&M into each Rolo candy. Let them dry. I have made these and pressed pecan halves in instead of M&Ms. They are wonderful.
Help your child make and give these as a teacher, bus driver or a someone special gift. I have done child care for lots of teachers and they always say that they love getting baked goods for a gift. There is an easy pictorial child’s recipe for both the M&M and the pecan version on my website. Find a special little someone and do some “baking” with them….time together is what truly makes the holiday season specail.
