I tried out a new dessert….YUM!
Black Forest Torte
Here’s what you need…
5 c mini marshmallows
1 chocolate cake mix
1 can cherry pie filling
1 8 oz Cool Whip
Grease your 9 x 13 cake pan.  Sprinkle the marshmallows over the bottom.  Prepare the cake according to the directions and pour over the marshmallows.  Spoon the cherry pie filling over the batter.  Bake 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until a toothpick is clean.  Frost with a carton of Cool Whip.  YUM…
If you like chocolate covered cherries, you’ll like this.
Yum is right – I’ll give it a try!
I make a similar black forest trifle that substitues 1 pkg. of instant chocolate pudding for the marshmallows. Alternate spooning pieces of cake, cool whip, pudding and cherry pie filling. So easy and a big hit at pot lucks.
OOooohhhh Nooooo! I love chocolate covered cherries. sighhh, I see this in my near future. I cannot be weak, I must just look at your photo and dream. I will not be weak! I will go quilt instead. :)
Delicious! My students made caramels today and I am in a sweets-making mood.
Ha Ha! My eyes are not as good as they used to be. I misread the title of your post to be “Black Forrest Tote”, and figured I’d be making some sort of German bag. Imagine my surprise when I saw the picture of a Black Forrest TORTE. Time for a glass of wine.
