I got in some cross stitch this week…thanks to BASKETBALL!! It the WNBA end of season tournament so I’m watching lots of ball.

You can see I was working on my Garden Club series from Blackbird Designs. I worked on this because I am trying to finish this piece this year…and the prompt for the Blackbird Academy Stitchalong was to stitch something with a bird. This definitely has a bird.

I pulled the next block I’ll be working on. I’ll be stitching these flowers below the bird I just finished.
I’m excited for this next block. It looks relatively easy. That’s awesome, as I have four blocks left and I’d really like to finish this before the end of the year.

I’m stitching this on Atomic Ranch’s Frieze in 40 count.
When I went to my doctor appointments this week, I finished my Merry Little Christmas freebie. This is from Sweet Wing Studio. You can find the free pattern HERE. There are other freebies there too.

I was looking for a more primitive look, so I left off the outer border. I changed the colors up too. Where I have red it supposed to be blue. On the lettering of the words “Have yourself a little” I changed the color to a green.

This will be cute when it’s finished to display in my dough bowl. It is small and can tuck in anywhere at Christmas time.
Being that one was finished, I kitted up two more freebies in my to-go bag. This one is from Plum Street. I liked it. It says, “To thine own self be true”. I almost picked it up and started stitching immediately. I like it!!

This is the other freebie I put in my to-go bag.

I ended up starting this when I was at the doctor’s office. It’s small and will go great in a dough bowl. I really like little freebies like these for my dough bowl.

If you are looking for freebies, simply type “cross stitch freebies” into your search bar, and they will come up.
I told you yesterday that I found this almost finished piece. Well, I finished it.

Finishing only took a few minutes, but I’m calling it a WIN!!
I was happy with my progress this week. I have two new small pieces to finish. I have two small freebies kitted, and I have progress on my Garden Club series. That is all good! How did you do this week?

Can you please explain your to-go bag? You mention it for projects you take along with you, and I’m interested in the size, sections etc, and how portable it is. It sounds like the sort of thing I think of after I’m stuck waiting somewhere!
I’m answering that in an upcoming Ask Jo
I am trying so hard to NOT get myself involved in any additional endeavors. When we moved to this Sr. community close to my daughter I gave away so many supplies for all the different things I love to do. I nearly clicked on the free patterns but thought a house for seniors is limited in space and i really do not wish to sleep on the patio to make room for any more projects. So I will continue to enjoy the things you and Kelli are up to…..Sewing for the pregnancy center and Christmas is just right for me.
I’ve been in a finishing mood too! In late August/ early September I purged my craft room. Then painted and reorganized it. That motivated me to FFO one quilt and 5 cross stitches. Feels good to have a clean space and finished projects to enjoy. You have been on fire with your accomplishments! Enjoy this season of contentment!
I have 4, maybe 5 Halloween pieces I stitched last year and trying hard to figure out how to finish them, I always seem to finish these the same way and am tired of it. Living in an rv there so little room – I would love a dough bowl but where to put it! LOL!
Love and prayers
I like the finished projects. I think I enjoy the little ones that seem doable to me. I printed the pattern for the one and maybe, just maybe I will be able to do it.
You’re making good progress on your PSS project. It’s going to be a beauty!
