Cross Stitch Update: May 22nd, 2026

I am stitching less nowadays, and I’m totally okay with that. I’ve been filling my life with people and not as many hobbies. It’s all good…

Last week I was working on this…

I worked on my Americana Trio. I am stitching this on the called for colors on a piece of orphan linen from Needle and Flax.

I ended up finishing this piece. YAHOO!!

I had to do the slightest bit of ripping out.

Now I have this one left in the series of three. I’m hoping I can stitch this one without too much frogging.

I worked on my Garden Club Series by Blackbird Designs. Here is where I was when you last saw it.

I am stitching this on Atomic Ranch’s Frieze in 40 count. I like the linen, but have been frustrated with this block. I made some progress, but not a lot.

I was stitching along on this, but then I needed to find a new color for the leaves on the tree. They are supposed to be two different colors but what I have shows no contrast. The plan is to find a new floss color.

Then I’ll be stitching again…

A blog reader wondered if my trouble with having to frog all the time is related to my eyesight and if the cancer meds are messing with my eyes. I plan to check in with the doctor and see if that might be a thing.

I’m only making little goals for myself nowadays. I’m hoping I can either finish the trio piece or finish this block from the Garden Club. If not…I’ll just settle for some progress. Some of the kids and grandkids will be home this weekend, and we want to get the garden tilled and planted. That really cuts into stitching time. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate, and we’ll get the outside stuff done.

  1. Your progress looks good—sweet projects. My Halloween smalls for my SIL continue slowly. I finished stitching another this week and switched to a little hand pieced house. I enjoyed the change but would love to get the next Halloween one started. Have a fun gardening weekend!

  2. Sorry you’re having so many issues with Apple Orchard…it was my favorite block. I kitted from stash and used 3011 and classic colorworks mossy. Hope it gets better for you.

  3. Maybe you didn’t stitch much, but what you did looks great! I really like your Americana trio pieces. They seem to be quick pieces – at least it seems that way to me! Have a great weekend with the family!
