I’m playing my broken record again…I didn’t stitch a lot.
I only worked on my Heartstring Samplery Consider the Lilies. This week I got more done than last week, though. I didn’t break any records but I did stitch.
I was so excited. I came to the end and only had one more stem to stitch.

I got that stem stitched and then lifted it up to admire my work. Darn. I had one spot that I had missed a stem.

Can you see it in the bottom corner?
I still have a few more stitches to put in…but by the time you read this, I’ll have it done.

It’s been slow going, but having that finished really makes me feel accomplished. This is the biggest project I’ve ever worked on. I still have a LONG way to go. I can’t help but celebrate little milestones.
I am using 40 count Vintage Country Mocha with the called for colors.
I was scrolling on Instagram and saw that several people have finished theirs. It’s inspiring to keep working on it.
Kelli and I were talking, and I was explaining that I am loving working on the border. I have the stems and leaves all memorized, as it’s the only thing I am stitching. I told Kelli that a blog reader had suggested that I just set cross stitching aside for a while. I thought about it, but I do love stitching and want to continue to be a cross-stitcher. Kelli was super encouraging. She told me just stitch at my own pace and not to worry about it. She reminded me how happy I would be when I pick up the piece and really put a lot of stitching time into it. I’ll have that border finished! So I’m sticking with my border patrol.
If you didn’t know, the Stitchery Nook is having open stitching days on July 16-19. I am not going for the whole time, but I do think I will sneak over and stitch with the gals on the 16th or 17th. I’ll decide which day once my schedule for then firms up. Does anyone want to join in? My friend Barb is going, and I only see her once a year or so. It will be a great time to catch up. Other gals regularly go, and I’d love to see them too. Who knows, maybe they will inspire me to get stitching.

I loved getting together with others to stitch, especially with my oldest daughter. We don’t do that enough anymore.
Have fun!
Love and prayers
You love stitching and your finished work is beautiful. I also loved stitching but my vision isn’t that great so I had to give it up. I know you are super busy now with Rick living with you but I encourage you to do stitches when he is working. Set small goals for yourself. I think it’s important to have special things just for us. Good luck.
I recently saw a video of parents “sleeping when the baby sleeps”. They were sleeping on the ground next to the stroller in the park, on the floor in the supermarket next to the stroller and in the parked car with baby in a carseat – made me chuckle. Catching up on stitching when Rick is working is easier than catching up on sleep as a new parent.
Love your border patrol idea! I did that as well as I love the lilies! Probably like eating dessert first but they make me smile whenever I bring it out to work on.
Good thing cross stitching projects don’t go bad or unravel without constant attention. Life changes and so does the time in the day we have to budget. I just got two puppies in May, it’s like having toddlers in the house again. My cross stitching time has been cut too, but it is still enjoyable when I can get a few stitches in. New routines are good for creativity and appreciating the craft.
Yay! Can’t wait to see you and stitch again!!
So good you were able to stitch some. Some is better than none. I haven’t stitched in a very long time, but getting lots of sewing done instead. Your stitching projects are always so pretty.
I am certain you have inspiration to stitch, just other priorities for now. GOOD FOR YOU to have these options!!!! Be kind yo yourself, please!!!
Just stitch when you can, it’s not going anywhere! I divide up my different loves, quilting, cross stitch and reading. I just do whatever strikes my fancy at the moment. Hugs,
