Cross Stitch Update: April 17th, 2026

I had a busy week again. This week, I got sidetracked helping a friend after the mom in the family passed away. I was unpacking from being gone, trying to catch up, writing blog posts, and frankly just a little tired. I started going to bed just a little earlier and sleeping just a little bit later. I think that’s due to the meds. That all means less stitching time.

My first task in my cross stitch world was to get the block I started for Blackbird Designs Garden Club series finished. Here is where it was when I last showed you…

I am stitching this on Atomic Ranch’s Frieze in 40 count. It has a bit of pink and green mottling. You can see the mottling in the picture above.

This is a series with 12 different blocks. As of last week, I had 4 1/2 finished.

This week I finished that block…

and I moved onto the next block…I really had an itch to finish the block so I could be halfway finished. I’m very close to a finish. I just need to finish the over one stitching. This on is my favorite block so far.

Here is the project so far. Next week, I plan to start working on the block below the corner block I just finished. The block is the Apple Orchard block that is in the picture below.

I’m so excited. I am technically half done with this!! I’m hoping to keep going with this and keep it as my focus project at least for another week.

This project is a great distraction to keep me from thinking about real gardening outside. It’s still WAY too early to plant anything here.

This project is likely one that I am closest to finishing, so I really want to keep working on it. I’m bound and determined to get my WIP count down a bit.

I have the supplies to start my Stitcher’s Garden Berries. I am hoping to get the threads together and start these this week, too.

I love the colors of these. I think the stitching will go fast, but that is also a “famous last words” statement. I won’t know until I get going on them. I am so thankful a blog reader had the pattern and trim set aside for me. These look so fun!!

That’s what I was up to this week in the cross-stitch department. Considering all that has gone on, I’m happy with my progress.

  1. Wow, good work! Your project is growing steadily.
I’m pleased to hear you say you are “just a little tired.” I’ve been concerned you would be completely exhausted beyond words. I’m glad you are able to rest more.
Thank you for the effort you make to share your life with grateful readers.

  2. Your Garden Club is coming along beautifully. I really like this pattern.
    My condolences to your friend.
Rest well – sleep when you need to.
    Love and prayers

  3. Great progress! Garden Club is beautiful. It is good you rest more when your body is needing it. Taking care of yourself even if it means less stitching is smart.
