Cross Stitch Update

It was a slow week of stitching. I didn’t get as much done as usual. Two nights I only stitched for about 20 minutes. That is unusual for me.

Here’s what I was up to. First off I picked up my Forever Thine Strawberry. A blog reader sent this chart to me. Thank you. I had been stitching this on the 14th of every month.

Last week I was so close to a finish. I decided to just do it.

I am making the strawberry so all of the stitching is done. I’m hoping to fully finish it soon.

Next I work on Chubby Bird. I had a small start on it but didn’t get a chance to stitch on it last week as I put so much of my time into Pet All the Dogs. I decided to work hard on this…

I thought I had finished it and put it away as a finish but looking at it I realized now that I forgot to complete the acorns. UGH. I already gave the chart to Kelli. I guess I’ll have to fudge it and I won’t have a finish on this until next week. Good thing I blog and look at the pictures otherwise I wouldn’t have noticed the error.

I had two night that I only had about 20 minutes to stitch. One night I pulled out this…When I only have a small amount of time to stitch, I like to pull out something small. Then it seems like I made more progress.

This is God Shed His Grace from Asbery’s Echoes. You can find her on Etsy. She has a lot of primitive charts that I just love. I will be ordering more of her small pieces. She just came out with another patriotic small. You’ll have to check her shop out HERE. If you like small primitive pieces, you’ll love her stuff!

Being I no longer have a fill-in project I decided to start this one…This is a market release that I recently bought called Maggie Mae. I have just a small start but it’s enough that before long it could work great for a fill-in project.

Here is where I was last week when I was working on Though He Seemeth Sleeping. I am stitching this with a variety of the called for colors on Needle and Flax linen called Sleeping Bear. It’s a favorite of mine.

I only picked this up one night so not much progress.

I got a few more of the motifs done. I’m hoping to tackle more of them this week.

I have a crazy week coming up. I’ll be scrambling to get things done around here as I’ll be gone for the cross stitch retreat coming up. You all know how much work it takes to pack, figure out arrangements for the pets, and take care of things like writing a few blog posts in advance. I’m wondering if I’ll be able to get much stitching done in the upcoming week. We’ll see.

Jo, don’t worry about the blog. We’ll be happy that you’re out and doing something that you really enjoy. What about Buck doing a cooking blog? I miss seeing him cooking up something delicious. Kelli could snap a picture of the charted acorns on her cell and send it to you. Just a thought.

  2. Those Stacy Nash animals are irresistible. I’m kind of funny about animals with clothes, weird huh, but may give into this one. It is so Beatrix Potter. I’m also having trouble even starting the finishing of my Red Pears, so would like to do that first. Enjoy your retreat!!

  3. Really want to do the retreat, but I’m one of those that would need a BFF while I’m there as I don’t know anyone. I’m only about 40 min away from Osage.
I so enjoy watching the Flosstube and following your blog. We have so many of the same likes. I am also connected as a volunteer with HEART rescue.

    1. COME>>> I’ll be your BFF. Promise. Kathryn and Barb are going who are also blog readers. Feel free to sit at our table. It would be great.

  4. You could ask Kellie to take a screen shot of the acorn part of the pattern, then email it to you. Technology is sometimes helpful! Or, as you said, you can just fudge it … that’s usually my choice! Have fun at the retreat!

  5. Many not much progress (your thinking), but I sure like the progress you did make. The Strawberry is going to be so cute when you get it put together and the Chubby bird will too – after you add the acorn finishes. Have a great time at the retreat and stitch and stitch!

Possible problem. The acorn “hats” look like they are one in the wrong shade. Are they not supposed to be darker than the acorn bottom? Love your blog. It inspries me to quilt scrappy. Keep on crafting.
