So yesterday all morning long I waited for a call or message from Kalissa and Craig.
Remember it was ultrasound day and they were going to find out if it was a boy or girl. I’ve had a feeling it was a girl. All along I’ve thought is was a girl. I really don’t know why other than girl babies seem to be the thing around here. I have six kids in child care right now….one is a boy…the rest, all girls. Since I’ve been doing care I’ve had five other kids in and out of care here….ALL WERE GIRLS. So of the eleven I’ve had in care only ONE was a boy.
Kalissa took a poll Sunday….the majority of us said girl. So what is it???
Watch the video and see.
Yep…I was wrong. It seems our first grandbaby is to be a BOY!!
I didn’t care either way. Healthy is always the most important.
Little baby Friedman is due the end of September….my main hope is still for a safe delivery for mom and babe…and if I can hope for one more thing, I hope she’s not way over due. Kalissa is so impatient. Life with her will be miserable if she’s overdue. Thankfully Kalissa knows this about herself and wasn’t a bit offended when I said something to her about hoping she’s not overdue!
A few of the childcare kids colored a page…blue balloons for a boy!
Let the garage saling begin!! All things fireman, ambulance and tractor will be snapped up. For at least a year, I think the little guy will be covered in it!! With Grandpa’s and Great-Grandparents that farmed, a dad and grandpa who are firemen and mom and dad and grandpa who are first responders the poor guy is going to have little choice in what he wears!!
Woo Hoo! Do you have that boy quilt ready yet? No pressure:) But it is what grandma’s do.
You need to check out countedquilts.com. I’m making a JD crib quilt for a grandson arriving in August and I just found out Sunday that another grandchild is arriving in December. I’m planning on making 2 tractor quilts now. I’ve also purchased the cow quilt pattern too. Enjoy! Blessings, Gretchen
Same thing happened when we got our first grandchild. It has always been girls in our family and then Daniel came and it was wonderful. He is now 16 and very special! Next up was two great grand daughters!
Yippee! A BOY! Great news!
Tried to watch the video and it is restricted. But congrats on the new grandson!!! What fun!!!
Congratulations on the anticipated birth of a grandson! Being a Grandma is the best.
I have three grandchildren – all boys. Of course I made quilts for each of them. You might be interested in the quilt that I made for my last grandson. You could do something similar to his but change some of the trucks to farm trucks, tractors, ambulances, etc. Maybe this will spark an idea for you.

Congratulations!!! My first Grand was a boy. I was lucky enough to see him born!!! It was an experience I never expected to have, but it was awesome. I have 6 Grands in all–five boys and one girl! Most wonderful thing that ever happened to me! Enjoy every second-it goes sooooooo quickly! Hugs to you, it’ll be like nothing you’ve ever known.

Congratulations on having a grandson! Grandchildren have a way of stealing your heart in a way that you never imagined.
Congratulations to all of you! Great adventure lies ahead! Will add Kalissa and her baby to my prayers.
Congratulations to all of you! I remember (probably a few years ago now) in one of your Try It On Tuesday posts you reviewed a book that had a appliqué quilt in it that had dogs (possibly beagles) on it. I think you said that you might make it if and when you had a grandchild – now’s you chance!
Congrats! Boys are the best! I know of nothing else. Having 5 brothers, hubby having 3 brothers and raising 2 boys what else is there? Wishing all good things for Kalissa and Craig. Looking forward to your journey into being a grandparent. It’s the best! Hugs!
The 3 boys in my house wouldn’t have it any other way! Well, the youngest one wants a baby sister, but that is not going to happen. I am sure you have all kinds of quilty ideas. . .maybe a recycled shirt quilt?
Congrats Grandma!!!!! My first and only grandchild is a boy who will be 2 in August. Just love being a gamma!!!!! You will too!!!!
