Community Quilts: From Sisters, Harriet and Kathy

I opened my email to find a wonderful community quilt story from Harriet and Kathy.

Harriet writes:
I came across these finish photos today and realized that I had not sent them to you.

Some time a while back, it’s embarrassing how long ago it was.You put out a request for finishers for tops from the Cresco Ladies.
I responded for my sister and I to finish some. 

These quilts have a lot of miles on them.  You sent them to me in California.I went through my stash and pulled backing fabric for all of them and sent them to my sister in Oklahoma.

My sister, Kathy did the quilting and attached the binding. She then brought them back to California when she came to visit where we both sewed down the binding as we visited with each other.

You will see that there were several Christmas theme tops.All of these quilts were donated to Foundation for Women Warriors that November for their Christmas party for the children.

I’m glad that I found the photos again and can let the Cresco Ladies know that their work is far reaching.Thank you for sharing your life on your blog.  

You have truly inspired me over the years.

I love this story. I will say it time and time again. The quilt tops that are donated don’t just help the recipients but also help the makers. Look at the time Harriet and Kathy worked together and visited while completing the tops. It’s great sister time. It’s wonderful that so many people can feel great about doing good things. Thanks so much for your work and dedication to helping others. Many thanks to the Cresco Ladies for making the tops. They are wonderful.
