Community Quilts from Ray: Patriotic Edition

I swear, Ray is always busy at the longarm. I have to say that would be a great way to retire and bring in a little extra cash. The way Ray works…I wouldn’t exactly call it retiring. Good for you, Ray!!

I finished another patriotic quilt for the November dinner. This top was made by Tish M. in OH.

What a novel way to create a beautiful quilt! Just start laying bricks until you have a great quilt.

Then to finish it off add a small border and then a border with more bricks. Great way to use up a lot of scraps too.

My thanks to you and Tish for your generous support of our veterans.

I finished another patriotic quilt and can show it to everyone. Kathy B. in MI made it.

I believe it is called a jelly roll race quilt. The white blocks separate the various strips and give it some additional color.

She then finished it with a beautiful striped border and appliqued USA in each border. Awesome quilt!

My thanks to you and Kathy for your support of the quilts for vets.

Oh my goodness…I love patriotic quilts, whether they are in my house or being gifted to our veterans…and how smart is Ray to be working ahead. Many thanks to the top makers. Your generosity is so appreciated!! I so admire these tops and Ray’s generosity to do all he does to warm the people of Florida. You’re a great guy, Ray, and we don’t appreciate you nearly as much as we should.

  1. These are beautiful – thank you to the makers, and thank you Ray for the long arming. I know the vets you present these to will appreciate them.
    Love and prayers

  2. Great work Ray! I love seeing your finishes a hearing about all of those who make them and receive them. God bless you for making it happen.

  3. I have made several of the jelly roll race quilts, so I was happy to see that first quilt. I have some scrap pieces of red, white and blue and now I know how I can use them up. I get a lot of ideas seeing quilts that others have made. Thanks for sharing so much.

  4. The quilts are beautiful! I always love seeing patriotic quilts and like making them too. Beautiful work by all – thank you!
