Community Quilts from Ray

I have quilts from Ray to share with you today…

Ray writes:
Katy P. in WI, sent me some tops in the group was a map of the United States. It marked all the states and their capitols along with items that would well represent each state. Awesome panel with a nice wide border.

I got a call from a lady at church half joking and asking if I had a map in the quilt top inventory. I told her that I was pretty sure I had one to her surprise.

Well, here is the finished quilt that they are needing and wanting. I used a stipple motif with bone-colored thread which blended in well.

The back is from a roll of fabric that I was gifted. The size was perfect and it is to go on a wall so it most likely will not be seen.

I found some sunflower fabric in the stash to add a bit of color with the binding. My thanks to you and Katy for all you do for community quilting.”

It is Wine Time!! At least that is what …this quilt from Adele A. in UT would have you believe. The quilt top is absolutely gorgeous with all of the wine glass, wine bottles and wine colored fabrics.

It really makes a wonderful statement.

After a lot of deliberation, I finally decided to go with the trillium leaf motif in a bone-colored thread.

I know they are not grape leaves but it was the best I could do.

My thanks to you and Adele for the materials to make this quilt so awesome!!

WOW.  I loved both of these quilts.  What serendipity that Ray had a quilt with a map on it.  I am always amazed at the coincidences that come about through the charity quilt program.  Many thanks to all the makers and donators of these two great quilts.  Great job Ray for putting them all together and making them shine!

  1. Good quilts! I made two like the map one – got the panels from thrift store for $1. I did my quilting very differently because I stitched around each state and that was a good relearning of our states! So fun to see this one.
