I have to laugh. About two months ago, I was wondering if the community quilt project would continue. I didn’t have many emails coming in with quilts. Then WHAM!! Quilts have been pouring in!
Today’s quilts are from Ray. He writes:
I finished this amazing quilt from Joan S. in IA.

I am not sure what to call the pattern. I look at it one way and it says it is a quarter log cabin with red cornerstone blocks.

I look at it another way and it looks like a variation of an Irish chain.

Whatever the pattern, it is a wonderful scrappy quilt. My thanks to you and Joan for your generous support.
Earlier I sent you pics of a quilt that came about from some blocks that Anne F. in GA sent to me and that Karen H. in NE assembled into a top. Well here is the second of three quilts.

Yes, these are the same block pattern but Karen put them together without any sashing this time. It looks like a totally different quilt.

If you like playing with blocks, you might want to give this block pattern a try.

My thanks to you, Anne and Karen for your contributions to make this and other quilts for the veterans.
I love both of these quilts and could see myself making both of the quilts. I love seeing the difference between the two patriotic quilts. It’s so fun to play with blocks!! Many thanks to the makers and to Ray…Without you, we wouldn’t be able to help so many people.

The first quilt looks like Jo and Kelli’s Chain of Faith pattern.
Wonderful piecing finishes and, of course, Ray always comes through!
Well done Karen in Nebraska! Happy Father’s Day, Ray!
Both quilts are beautiful, so colorful! I still get amazed at all the variations of blocks these creative people create. Thank you to Ray, Anne, Karen, and Joan. Great teamwork!!
