Community Quilts from Ray

Ray is still busy finishing up some community quilts. When I met Ray he said he tries to longarm one quilt a day!! That’s impressive. What is more impressive is that you all keep him in quilt tops and backing fabric too! THANK YOU!! Now onto today’s quilts.

Ray writes:
I wanted to share another quilt that Linda F. in AZ sent to me to finish and I was able to get it finished.

This is a beautiful batik Jacob’s Ladder quilt. All the various batiks really make this quilt shine. Not to mention the very interesting layout that she created.

I selected the stipple motif and off white thread to longarm it.

My thanks to you, Linda, and the backing provider for the pieces to make this awesome quilt become a reality.

Kris J. in UT sent me this top and I am finally getting around to longarming it.

It is such an interesting top and not an easy one to piece, I am sure. Lots of nine patches and solid blocks which makes sizing an issue. Then it is even more complicated to put it on pointe. Not to mention the filler triangles around the outside. Great job Kris.

I went with the stipple motif and off-white thread to longarm.

Kris included extra fabric that I used for the backing and binding.

My thanks to you and Kris for the materials to finish this beautiful quilt.

Thanks for finishing and sharing these great quilts with us Ray. As always, your work is amazing and so appreciated!!

  2. Beautiful quilts and great quilting and finishes! Thank you Ray and your contributors – a great team effort. So many quilts are finished by you, Ray, and hardly ever see two of same pattern/design – beautiful!

  3. That Ray! He’s a powerhouse: talented, generous, and productive. I wonder how many lives are richer because of his work. We’d need to count not just the number of quilts he has produced but also all your readers he delights with these pictures. Together with the contributors, his work amplifies kindness. Thank you, Jo, for sharing Ray’s accomplishments with us!
