I am squeezing in an extra community quilt post here today. I have had LOTS of finished quilt emails sent to me lately so I want to get the posts written and scheduled but scheduling them out into October seems silly so I’m adding one here today. I think it’s been so hot across the nation that longarmers and staying inside and longarming quilts!!
Ray is still working on patriotic quilts and he has two to share with you today…
Ray writes:
“Today I finished this beautiful quilt that Arlyn P. in MA sent me. The pattern is called Star Traks by Bright Corners.

Arlyn said it was not a quick project. I can believe that with all those blocks that were sewn together. Great project to use up some of that red stash. Red jelly rolls would work but would probably lose something with the deviation.
I went with the stipple motif and variegated red, white and blue thread.

Arlyn supplied the binding and the backing came from Arline’s stash.

Great quilt! My thanks to you, Arlyn and Arline for another special quilt for a vet.
Arlyn P from MA sent me several patriotic quilts to finish for veterans at the church veterans day dinner. Love the fabrics and design of this quilt.

Arlyn says the pattern is QOV Stars Quilt by Blue Point Designs.
I used the twig motif to pick up on the swirls in the neutral, background fabric. Bone colored thread front and back.

The backing is from the Arline H. stash. Love how the stars complement each other.

My thanks to you, Arlyn, and Arline for your generosity.
Ray’s support of veterans in his area goes on and on. He will get as many tops finished as he can before the presentation in the Fall. I am sure he will be doing this again next year. If you are a charity quilt top maker and have fabrics around please consider making a top and passing it on to Ray for next year’s presentation. He would love the support. Ray doesn’t require any specific size. He does prefer something considered lap-sized or up to twin. Thanks for your consideration.
As always, Ray and I are blown away by the wonderful generosity of time, talent, and money you all give. It is so appreciated. I can’t wait to see some of the pictures that Ray will send from the next presentation!
Great timing, Jo. Just a quick note to all that all is good in my section of Florida. Idalia went to the northern end of the state to be nasty. Prayers for all of norther Florida as they are in for a long recovery. And thanks for your prayers and concerns. Quilt on!!!
Love all those red, white and blue quilts. All very nice and nicely quilted. Thanks to all and good wishes to the veterans who will receive one.
Absolutely beautiful!! I love the quilts and the quilting just makes them pop. Just lovely!! I too am praying for fellow Floridians as they attempt to clean up and rebuild.
Beautiful quilts – my thanks to Ray and everyone who donated fabric and quilt tops for the veterans quilts.
Love and prayers
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I know all will be loved & appreciated! Great job, Ray!
Ray knows how to rock a RWB quilt. His quilting on top of phenomenal design by talented piecers makes these quilts shine. Great job by all.
