Community Quilts from Ray

I have emails from Ray to share with you today.

Ray writes:

I got a box of UFOs in the mail today from Bev C in NY. She is still in the process of cleaning and organizing and resorting etc, I am the lucky recipient of her extras.

First is a pic of 2 UFOs. In the lower-left corner is a stack of log cabin blocks. There are 13 blocks. Some sashing between the blocks and a nice border and I will have a sweet little top. The rest of it consists of 18 disappearing 9-patch blocks along with fabric and blocks to make a lot more. That does not include the 2 batik charm packs.

The next pic is a dinosaur top that needs the left and right borders added. The fabric was included along with several more complementing “blocks”. They might work out to use as part of the backing.

The last one is 16 blocks that need to be assembled into a top. There is extra fabric to use for sashing, cornerstones and borders. Should be a very nice quilt when completed.

My thanks to Bev for all the goodies.

I put the finishing touches on a quilt that Arline H. made and gave to me to finish and to donate.

This pattern is so bright and cheery. I love everything about it. It looks to be pretty straightforward to make.

Those gorgeous flowers with the dark blue background reminded me of a Florida downpour. Therefore, the circle meander motif in blue to add some more raindrops.

Arline supplied the backing and binding.

I used yellow thread on the back to blend. My thanks to you and Arline for your continued support.

  1. Beautiful quilts! Does anyone know the name of the last quilt with the bright flowers? I would love to make one.

    1. I sent that to Ray, it arrived at my house in a bag of projects and fabric, I simply would never have gotten to—I will look around, perhaps I’ll find the name of pattern.
